Publisher and Writer at Board Game Quest. Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Twitch | Tony has been an avid gamer since playing Hero Quest early on in his childhood. He eventually expanded out into games like Battle Masters, Risk, and Dungeons and Dragons. After college, he found out about the larger board game world that he never knew existed. Discovering the new genre of games, the Eurogame, opened a whole new world to him. The Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne and Formula De were some of his early “gateway games”. Today, Tony’s board game collection is ever-growing and takes up an entire room in his house. He thanks his generous wife for her support in this crazy endeavor.

Writer at Board Game Quest. Breaking into board gaming after a long battle with MTG addiction, Andrew has become a lover of the epic eurogames. Andrew now shares his love of gaming with his 6-year old son, introducing him to the cool kids games that modern board game companies have to offer. | Twitter

Writer at Board Game Quest. If you go back far enough, you’ll often find a seminal event responsible for a lifetime of gaming. Playing Dungeon! at an elementary school birthday party was that event for Tahsin. Raised on fantasy adventure from Dungeons & Dragons to Advanced HeroQuest, Tahsin was also spoon-fed big box area control classics like Axis & Allies and Supremacy. He also managed to have a few side orders of Car Wars and BattleTech for good measure. After a brief phase collecting Magic: The Gathering in college, he went through another phase of D&D fascination with the release of 3rd Edition. His foree into modern board gaming started with Doom: The Board Game and Descent: Journeys in the Dark. Finding that board games offered more episodic and varied play than roleplaying games, he switched over entirely to board games in 2011. His favorite games have ties to his roots in area control and heavy theme but it took roping his wife into gaming to discover a love for Euro design. Hybrid Euro designs with heavy theme and spots of area control fill his shelves and his gaming passions always extend to gaming with his wife and gamer-in-training son.
Writer at Board Game Quest. Chris played epic games of Monopoly every Saturday night as a child long before he dove into the deeper end of the hobby. Now his tastes lean more toward midweight and above euros, but he often mixes in family-weight games to cleanse his palate. You can even catch him still taking the occasional trip around “Go” if the mood strikes him. He has worked as a local news reporter, columnist and currently hosts a comedy podcast about movies. Chris was born in New York, raised in New Jersey, and now lives in Arizona with his gaming partner (who is incidentally his wife) and their two tiny gamers-in-training.

Writer at Board Game Quest. Brian’s love of boardgames was revitalized when he discovered Puerto Rico in 2005. He now enjoys playing worker placement, deck building, dice driven and coop games with his primary gaming partner, his wife.
Writer at Board Game Quest. Brian’s gaming addiction started when he was twelve when a close friend introduced him to Dungeons and Dragons. Years later, his DM wanted a break from RPGs and introduced the group to one of the first Milton Bradley Gamemaster series: Axis and Allies. Well, after playing just one game; let’s just say Brian now had two loves to balance. The board gaming floodgates really opened for him when his group added other games to their rotation like Risk, Conquest of the Empire, Fortress America, Shogun, and of course Dark Tower (those damn Brigands). Before high school and after college, Brian continued to collect and play various types of board games. He has never been able to shake his need for a board game “fix” or his connection to like-minded gamers (hence how he ended up at Board Game Quest). Brian would thank his wife for putting up with his two hobbies for all these years but long before they married he came out of the “gamer closet” to her and she has accepted his other loves ever since (or at least puts up a good front).

Hello, and welcome to my profile! I am a rule book editor and I also own and operate Board Game Immersion, a website for reviews, various types of videos, articles, and more. I am a certified copyeditor and love writing (and reading) in the fantasy and science fiction genres--the deeper the magic system, the better! My favorite movies are, of course, Star Wars (all of them), and my favorite book is Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson.

I love rugby as if it were my own flesh and blood, and I follow NHL hockey with a passion that my team--Calgary Flames--try to put out each and every season (one day we'll win the cup again...). I love watching Australian football (go Swans!) and I used to be on an actual, honest-to-goodness quidditch team (hey, it's a real thing!). I play ultimate Frisbee and was a stadium announcer for a professional team in the AULD.

I love board games (obviously) and have many favorites. Some of those favorites are X-Wing; Champions of Midgard; Heroes of Land, Air & Sea; Clank!; Tiny Epic Galaxies; Terraforming Mars; Flip Ships; and many more, mood depending.

Mover of little wooden cubes, shuffler of cards, roller of so many ones, bluffer of questionable quality. They call him....Bob.

I'm Rob, have loved games since I was but a tiny human, based in the UK. Always up for a chat or a game of anything, although negotiation, social deduction and trading games are my favourites. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Current favourite game: Archipelago (subject to change)

I enjoy many hobbies and all things gaming including:

  • board games (obviously)
  • video games (console, PC, whatever)
  • Role playing games of all stripes
  • Painting miniatures
  • assembling and painting model planes, tanks, cars etc

I am a Kansas farm boy, currently living and working in rural El Salvador.

I am primarily a solo gamer. I do enjoy playing multiplayer games, but, since having moved away from those I used to game with, I have turned more and more to solo gamer. As I have grown in my life as a solo gamer, I have come to regard it super highly. No longer is it merely a poor substitute for multiplayer gaming, but, almost, a preference.

My main interest is heavier games that I can play solo. I am particularly fascinated by games with strong historical themes. My top 5 as of of the end of 2020 are:

  1. #Navajo Wars
  2. #1862: Railway Mania in the Eastern Counties
  3. #Pax Pamir (Second Edition)
  4. #Pax Porfiriana
  5. #Star Trek: Frontiers

Hi, Don here. I'm a designer, gamer, and I basically think humans communicating is awesome. I made The Resistance series, dabbled in self-publication, and now working on freelance projects. I'm interested in this site because Twitter is daunting and seems too much about self-promotion (in my eyes. Maybe not yours. That's fine). Being able just to relax and talk to people about a shared hobby seems cool. I don't know what the first step is so I think I'll just post this, which I'm currently writing as my profile, on the site and see what happens. Super meta. Or? Anyway hi.

Hey board gamers, BJ from Board Game Gumbo here.  Been an avid gamer all my life (RPGs, mass market board games, trading card games), but back in 2008, I discovered hobby games like Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, and Catan, and have been playing steadily ever since.

We host a weekly game night at our local game store in Lafayette, Louisiana, and volunteer at conventions big and small around the country. We post our game plays and game reviews each week at www.boardgamegumbo.com, a proud member of Punch Board Media.

Plus, we host live interviews with industry guests on Gumbo Live! a weekly talk show all about board games on Facebook at www.facebook.com/boardgamegumbo. And we play games live on our Twitch channel -- www.twitch.tv/boardgamegumbo.

Come say hi whenever I post segments on the Dice Tower's Board Game Breakfast or say hey at our local convention, Southern Board Game Fest, coming up in March 2022!

I am currently the owner and operator of Lock 'n Load Publishing. I was the founder and President of The Gamers Network, The Wargamer, and Matrix Games.I’ve been playing games in some way or another for most of my life. They are and have always been a large part of who I am. I knew since high school I wanted to design, develop and play games and if I could make a living at it, then even better.I have more games than I will likely ever play, but that does not stop me from trying something new or picking up that game that catches my eye.My very first board game at the old age of 15 was Avalon Hill’s Rise and Decline of the Third Reich, which I had purchased at a Toys R Us of all places. It’s still one of my favorite board games to this day. I can’t truly remember my first computer game, but I think it was East Front on my Atari 800 computer. Some of my favorite game designers are Mark Herman and Eric Lee Smith on the table top and Gary Grigsby and Norm Koger on a digital platform. There are many other games I enjoy, but these designers never seem to fail me.God blessed me with great parents that put up with my friend's gaming all night at our house. If that was not enough, I am blessed with a beautiful wife who has never minded my gaming hobby. Some of my best meals have been cooked by her for my gaming sessions with my friends.I have three sons who all love playing games. Tabletop, computer and of course Xbox. They love attending conventions with me and now have many of their friends playing with us. So I feel I done my best to help carry the hobby going forward and made a lot of great friends along the way.
I got into board games in 2018 and have been enjoying it since.

Massachusetts boardgamer.

We've been boardgaming for decades, but didn't truly discover modern boardgames till the mid 2010's. We got serious about the hobby and began really building a collection in fall 2016.

Workers placement is our favorite mechanic, followed up by deck building, push your luck, drafting, and engine building in no particular order.

Our least favorite is dungeon crawlers, followed by fiddly cooperatives (app driven co ops are fine.)

To us the asthetics, quality components, and table presence of a game are important, they enhance the enjoyment of a game (while poor quality components detract)

In my listing of owned games I do not rate/review expansions, I consider the effect of expansions in the main game rating.

My want to play list is games that are safely in our possession, but are waiting  for birthdays and Christmas because they are gifts.

Board game player, reviewer, and all around good guy. My favourite games are Argent the Consortium, Spirit Island, and Terraforming Mars. But what I normally play is all over the spectrum. From Cockroach Poker, to On Mars.

I have a blog where I review and rank all of the games I've played.

I'm a long time gamer geek. I owned a FLGS for six years and now have a nerd themed inn with a sweet game room. (www.madrigalinn.com)

I also make board game videos for my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/fenirob

A gamer from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England.

I've played board games all my life but only really got into the hobby in 2013.

What changed? Well we (as in my friends) enjoyed playing card games such as Newmarket and Poker and we played a lot of Magic the Gathering and other CCG's such as Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Buffy etc etc

We picked up the odd game like Munchkin, Fluxx, Doom the Boardgame, Frag, Zombies!!! etc etc and we thought they were OK.

In 2011 my friend bought Arkham Horror and I bought Penny Arcade: Gamers vs Evil. We played them A LOT so I started to look for other games on BGG and I got caught up in the hobby.

Now, I don't want a HUGE collection but I do want a collection of games that I enjoy playing over and over. This collection is now (pretty much) complete and from now on it'll be one in one out.

I'm a gaming media junkie too. I've culled the list of podcasts I listen to but I still keep up to date with around 5 podcasts and 4 video channels.

I run a blog at Jesta ThaRogue where I review games I own (in the order I got them) and I give a quick rundown of games I play for the first time at organised gaming events. I now have a Podcast at the same address that has a weekly 15ish minute episode every Tuesday.

So that's me. Feel free to say Hi and comment on my blog!

My family enjoys playing games together and constitutes my primary gaming group. I sometimes play with distant family and friends on Boardgame Arena or Vorpal Board.  I've attended GenCon three times and Origins about five times.  Always a fun vacation!  But I won't attend any con where masks are required.

I started a games elective at a Christian school several years ago.  The first year I only had a combined class of 7th/8th graders and then added another one for 6th graders the second year.  The support from the administration was amazing....so for the 2013-2014 school year, we added a game elective for high school and a second section of 6th grade. We played about 20 games in a school year. One year my high school students students playtested a game for Victory Point Games and created an interactive fiction game for fellow students using Inform7.  I no longer teach since I've moved, but I am so grateful for the opportunity of teaching these classes for 7 years!

I am Fred, last name not Estare!
