The Reaper is loose
The Reaper from the gauntlet has been turned loose into the game to help you or harm you depending on how you roll. This mechanic adds in a lot of fun but the biggest addition from this expansion are the cards. Four new and strong character and some much needed spells that are lacking in the base game. A ton of new adventure cards round things out and I highly recommend getting this expansion as soon as possible.
It's a big one
This game is big and you need to set aside a good amount of time to play it. There are a lot of fantasy classics that show up weapons, spells and all manner of creatures to befriend or battle. The expansions can make this game so much more but you will need a large playing area once you start adding them on. The big downside to the game can be the end since if you fail the gauntlet it can kick you out to try again or even have you starting over with a new character. This can lead to a long play time but if you can build yourself up before another player makes a run for the end you can come out on top.
The best add on
It's larger cards for a game with high replayatability. Also it adds additional routes to complete giving more variety and sometimes better options to try and gamble on more bonus points. Lastly there are 3 more ways to play included with a new rule book.
The gateway game
Whether it's a game night or a get together this is the go to and most played game I have. Game play has simple mechanics that most people are familiar with drawing cards and placing tokens on the board while also trying to make connections between cities. Ticket to Ride is a great game to introduce to people who only think of board games such as Sorry or Trivial Pursuit. Friendly competition to complete your routes and disrupt your opponents can stir up some fun table banter. If you feel you are falling behind you can gamble for more routes to complete but you might just bust in this modern classic.
