Games I'd buy if starting from scratch with $200:
- #Gloomhaven — BGP has it at $112, so it eats up more than half my budget, but it is easily my favorite game, and I consider it the best bang for the buck in the world of board gaming.
- #Pandemic — $36. While Gloomhaven is my favorite game, Pandemic is my wife's favorite. We have played Pandemic 66 times in the past year. 'Nuf said.
- #Underwater Cities — $40. Frequently compared (quite favorably) to Terraforming Mars. I have both of them and enjoy them a lot, but I have to give the edge to Underwater Cities. Plus, it's cheaper.
- #Innovation — $13.50. OK, so I'm over the limit by a buck and a half. So sue me. But this little gem is worth it. This was Eric Martin's (top geek at BGG) favorite game for quite a while. Huge game in a little deck of cards. The more you play it, the better it gets.Â
So my four games come in a little over at $201.50. Four great games that have a lot of replayability.
For the out of print game, I might suggest #HeroQuest. I don't think it's a game that I'd like, but if you're looking for an iconic game that has propelled a lot of people into the hobby, this would be the one.

Agreed! I played again this week and really enjoyed it. Have you played Chudyk's other card game, Mottainai? I have it but haven't opened it yet.
