It's perfectly functional and unspectacular. You mostly just do a bunch of stuff to play cards worth large numbers of points, and the rest is just so much noise. It's a pretty simple game, really, and nothing leapt out to grab me. The whole "time management" aspect is a little cute. I am getting utterly sick and tired of Tasty Minstrel's deluxe editions (I will not use their stupid word). This one is markedly less functional than it could have been because some of the components (cities, cubes, hourglasses) are simply too large.
