This Tactical space was actually pretty fun, I played this game with some friends. The differences in movement and combat between the two races was different enough to warrant separate tactics. Maneuvering and guessing your opponent's movement was crucial to good play. I did find that the larger scenarios were too intensive in book-keeping for my taste. Scenarios with 3-6 ships per player was fine for keeping all of your info in one sheet and playing in an afternoon, but I never got around to the more complex or larger battles in that incarnation. I did devise a variant which mimicked the basic rules and simplified a lot the game by using the fighter markers to keep track of the overall ship capability. Of course the downside was that plotted movement was lost and the ships ended up being very similar, but at least in this way it was much easier and faster to play the other really big scenarios with no book-keeping. I was quite satisfied with the results.
