The airships are just there. They are like ghost units - they impact very little. Would not recommend this to someone. I do the like alternative endgame expansion though.

A solid expansion, but I found that I don't use the airships at all. The variable end game conditions are used every time.

It adds more texture to the game, more ways to interfere with/benefit from your opponents, and adds variety all with very little rules overhead--so an ideal expansion in that sense. I do have worries about how this affects faction balance, and some of the powers encourage scripted opening moves--even more scripted than usual.

Wonderful expansion. I especially love the ability to change the end game conditions.

This expansion is great. Airships don't change the core gameplay but adds more flexibility and also adds different layers of strategy. I'm excited to try the different end game conditions.

Adds a good deal of variety, but not recommended until after many plays of the base game.

Bought it because of how great the ships look like but didn't use it that often. The different game end triggers are cool though.
