Where to begin? SoR tries to be 4-player Hannibal, and overall it is very clean for a multi-player CDG with asymmetric powers. So, I guess, kudos for that. But man, what a train-wreck. The atrocious CRT has been commented on elsewhere, and I assure you it is as bad as rumored. Having a total of 12 CUs on the board means losing 7+ on a freak result puts you out of the game for hours. The game is balanced on a knife-edge, so if people don't play their roles (and activate the neutral powers just right) the game can degenerate. Allow me to stress that all of these problems result in one or more of the players having nothing interesting or fun to do--and problems that suck the enjoyment out of the game for some are worse than problems just in general. Finally, Successors is so much better on every level. It's really quite ridiculous.
