I didn't think that what the trick-taking genre needed was some take-that.

Have to play this more. It really works well in a nongamer crowd.

DONATED TO IN-LAWS Trick taking game to play with the in-laws. Fun variation with a take-that factor loved by the in-laws. Still too luck based to get a higher rating.

I love Mike Fitzgerald's foray into trick-taking card games a la Hearts and Spades. The actions you can take in off-suits provide that little extra something that is missing from typical games of this ilk, as they make nearly every card matter. Although I liked the inviolability of the player vaults, I didn't care for the way they shield the gems. I feel playing with vaults that opponents can see into (but not take from) would make for a much more engaging and competitive game.

Yet another trick taking game. Not bad.

A trick taking game with a lifecycle. I like how winning a trick may not do anything for you because you don't fulfill the prerequisites to make it work (eg not having a gem in front of your shield to put behind the shield).

Perfect for my non-gaming family.
