Join the Quest! Build Your Own Legend! Seize the Adventure! Powered by the acclaimed Shadowrun: Crossfire Engine, Dragonfire is a deck-building game set within the world's greatest roleplaying game - Dungeons & Dragons! Players choose from a number of races, from dwarf to elf, half-orc to human, while assuming the quintessential roles of cleric, rogue, fighter, and wizard. Equipped with weapons, spells, and magic items, players begin their adventure along the famed Sword Coast, then expand to other locales across the Forgotten Realms, such as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, and Waterdeep, in future expansions. Along the way, players level up their characters, opening access to additional equipment, feats, and more!

  • Deck building adventure game. Pretty fun.
  • 2-6 players (best 4) 60-90 minutes
  • This is a game I am torn about. I love the gameplay - the theme and mechanics are excellent. Every scenario is a puzzle, but a really interesting puzzle that I found super engrossing. But, the game is very hard, probably too hard. I don't mind hard cooperative games - coop games should be challenging and make you think, with failure common but determined by how well you played - but this game often has the feel of being unwinnable. So I love it but find it too frustrating to play often.

Legacy games, yes indeed. They just don't seem to go the distance with us--something like Dragonfire was an utter disaster even though it should've been a winner. Long, heavier titles are welcome (including favorites like Lisboa , Star Wars: RebellionConflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear!) so it isn't really about time commitment either. The concept of growing a character and watching our decisions impact the overall narrative is something my partner and I love in video games. Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion might be a candidate, and I'm giving Undertow a shot (not stricly legacy though.)

I haven't played any of the Clank! series and had no interest until Acquisitions was announced.
