I like that it brings some fresh new ideas to the COIN system and fixes some longstanding issues for me; like how you can manipulate turn order. I also feel like Brian Train did a lot of extensive research on this conflict from reading the notes. I don’t feel like the history really comes out in the game thematically though, and mechanically it felt like we were hammering the same actions over and over. You also lose a lot of the interplay, alliances, and negotiation with two players.
