In Terra Mystica, players govern one of 14 factions seeking to terraform and colonize the landscape in their favor in order to build structures and preserve their race and culture.

Upgrade structures to provide even more resources, like workers, priests, money, and power, erect temples to gain expanded influence in the four cults of Fire, Earth, Water, and Air, and fortify your stronghold to activate your group's special ability. Will your people prosper, persevere, and stand the test of time in Terra Mystica!

  • Balance? Do you know what balance is? Neither does creator of this game.
  • The character abilities and variable bonuses make this game have a lot of replay value. I need a few more games to really determine how much I enjoy it but so far it has been a great game. Edit 1/18/18: I would always rather play Gaia Project now. A good game and I would play it, I would just always rather play Gaia.
  • Fun game - maybe slightly dated.+ Races are all different and easy to learn.+ Rules are easier than the weighting suggests. - Buildings seem like left over Catan pieces

Haha! I still need to look more into it. Every review I found was basically like "it's a more streamlined#Terra Mystica." But I never played that so I have no frame of reference

Based on what I've heard, they're very different games, but I probably would have gotten #Terra Mystica or #Gaia Project if I hadn't gotten #Clans of Caledonia. Before I found out about CoC, I eyed on those two quite a bit.

I'll start with the second question. #Leaving Earth is without a doubt my favorite space-themed game. My enjoyment of space-themed board games is a natural extension of my love of space-themed movies and books. I think #Terra Mystica would be better with a space theme. Its current theme has difficulty holding my attention. Perhaps the space-themed version would be more likely to suck me in.

ive got just a few more days till i can play Root (finally!) i cant wait! other than that im looking forward to giving Terra Mystica whirl!

In a perfect world, I could search 504 plays by specific world (e.g., 245) or by some classes of worlds (e.g., 2xx, 24x, 2x5).  In Sprawlopolis order doesn't matter, so I'd want to search for 17, or 16+17, or 2+16+17.  Sprawlopolis is a pretty light game, so chances are I'd just want to sort my plays by the cards I used, while a world of 504 can be a whole different game from another world, and I'd want to be able to search for reviews of a particular world.

You might want an easy-to-check-off card list for the cards you used in a particular game of Dominion 2nd Edition, or to log which player played which faction/clan in a game of Terra Mystica or Clans of Caledonia.  It only seems fiddly because it's a hard thing to log now, but some people do care about stats for Terra Mystica factions, for example, and for other variables of setup in variable-setup games.
