  • Top. One of the best co-operative games for me. Also my favourite LCGkeeper
  • Includes:- Captain America- Hulk- Ms. Marvel- Black Widow- Folded Space insert
  • Co-op / Solo
  • This is our first LCG. We are not the biggest comic fans in the world, but know most characters. I really enjoy this one though. Working together to beat a villain, strategizing around the table, and planning our next moves makes for a great time. I see this game having staying power, especially with all of the planned expansions. I also like that the LCGs are not randomized when buying extra content.

I play tooons of #Star Realms with my partner. The app is exceptional. if anyone wants to play, I can post my account name :D

I've also been starting to play quite a bit of #Marvel Champions: The Card Game. I really like it! I'm always looking for a game to replace that #Magic: The Gathering card-fiddling feel. But without the need for $20 cards!

I've also got my nieces for the weekend, so I plan to show them #Ghost Blitz, #The Quest for El Dorado, and #Survive: Escape From Atlantis!

My wife, son, and I played a couple games of #Marvel Champions: The Card Game. We're still somewhat new, with only about a half-dozen games under our belt. We've been going through all the hero decks, playing through to see what we like best.

This week, we tried out Spiderman/Justice, Black Widow/Protection, and Captain Marvel/Aggression, followed by Ant-Man/Leadership, Ms Marvel/Aggression, Spider-Woman/Justice&Protection. Both resulted in wins, but we're playing in Standard mode so not too surprising.

The standouts were the Ant-Man decks for sheer fun, and Spider-Woman for some amazing versatility.

Sooooo, what's your #1 for solo now? :D

I was fairly surprised by #Marvel Champions: The Card Game at #4. The big jump was anticipated since it came out late 2019, but I didn't expect to see it in Top 10 so quickly. And in general, I'm not a fan of solo modes that require so many extra steps just to play the game, so my guess would be that I'd much rather play something like #Nemo's War (Second Edition) rather than soloing #Scythe (with multiple AI's). Lastly, when I see games like #Terraforming Mars at #3, it makes me wonder if it's there mostly because of how popular and widely owned it is, or because the solo experience is just as amazing (I've never played TM by the way). At least based on my preferences, I would think that there are plenty of other games on the Top 100 that would feel like a much more memorable solo experience in comparison to TM.

That's a fun question.  There are so many options to consider for my #Marvel Champion

She cheers me up when I'm sad and is my #Gloomhaven in that way.  I think the best game title to capture the meaning my best friend carrys for me is #Spirit Island

I expected #Marvel Champions: The Card Game to make a big jump after coming out late last year, but not this much.

Great to see #Pax Pamir (Second Edition) break into the list and I'm also going to take #Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale for a spin tonight!

Pretty good week for games this week!

  • #The Isle of Cats (TTS, Multiplayer): First time playing it.  It's a fun little game!  Has enough depth to keep it interesting but at a pretty quick game time.
  • #Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale (TTS, Multiplayer): One of my favourites.  I love making maps!  I might have had one of my best games ever as well despite us having a lot of ambushes come up.
  • #Watergate (TTS, Multiplayer) x2: First time playing for me.  I liked it!  Definitely the tension of push/pull between the different things each side is trying to achieve is great and both of our games came down to the wire.
  • #Marvel Champions: The Card Game (TTS, Multiplayer): I got a bit of play in at the first SHUX and was intrigued.  Finally getting a full game in was great.  I could definitely see potentially getting in to this one.  I love the secret identity/super hero flipping and the different characters and decks definitely have different feels to them.
  • #Tekhenu: Obelisk of the Sun (Physical, Solo): Really wanted to give this another shot!  I realized about an hour in to the game that I was screwing up the rules enough that I had to restart.  Got it right on the restart and had a really good game!  I was behind all game, sometimes by quite a bit but I managed to pull together some big decrees in the last turn to rocket ahead to a win!

You already have #Spirit Island which is a great one.  I'd suggest #Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island and #Marvel Champions: The Card Game as good co-op options.  Though it lacks the dice I think you find #Gloomhaven very much up your alley.

A few other's you might like include #Scythe: The Rise of Fenris which would require the base game as well. #Maracaibo has a legacy play option with "chapters" and might be intriguing as well.

I like the game, but there's something about it that makes it tough to get off the shelf sometimes.  Normally I'd say setup but I think its something else.  And it's not that I don't like it, becuase I certainly do (I've got almost every hero!).

Now that I think about it I think there are a couple of games I want to play more often and now that I think about it they are all co-op. #Marvel Champions: The Card Game, #Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island, and #Spirit Island don't hit the table as much because I don't think my family is really that into co-op games.  This is sort of a revelation as I write this....hmm.

So when I play #Marvel Champions: The Card Game its generally just me playing and each game takes about 90+ minutes because I'm taking the time to think through two players turns.  I think if someone in my house enjoyed it more (and I can see my kids growing into it later) then I'd definitely play more.  The setup would be a big deal and in fact I think crafting the hero decks would be more fun if I was doing that with another person.

The heroes all seem to play pretty differently and the aspects add a unique feature to each hero (I like to mix them up rather than use the aspect the hero comes with).  I have found I spend a lot of time dinking and ducking until I can get my hero in a position for a few really big hits.  I think I've won most games (all against Rhino thus far) but they were challenging and I had to work at it to get to the point where the last couple of turns I was able to blast the villian.  In every game there were always a couple of turns where the villian nearly beat me though and I eeked it out.

Similar to R0land, I tend to be pretty patient and good about resting on any games that suddenly pop up. #Marvel Champions: The Card Game was one that for some reason seemed absolutely irresistible and I just kept thinking about buying it. I guess it was the idea of having a non-pandemic like co-op game where we could really team up and fight some baddies together with a theme that we'd both love. I cooled off on it after a week so I knew it wasn't a necessary buy.

I think the closest one for this cateogry is #Atlantis Rising (second edition). It looked good! And I liked the idea of a co-op game that's different from Pandemic and one that has a familiar mechanic (worker placement). I had heard several reviewers raving about it so I decided to add it to the cart along with two others games after watching 1 or 2 videos. Got free shipping! xD

ooo I'd love to get your thoughts on #Marvel Champions: The Card Game
