10/06/11 - received it in my game order.12/21/11 - finally got to get this one to the table and it was a hit with us. It is a quick game and there are a lot of decisions to make in the short time it takes to play.

Other than a couple of kickstarter games coming in (Kabuto Sumo, #For Sale & Gladius ) I'm just excited to start gaming with friends again.

Gotcha. My only 2 are #Air, Land, & Sea and #For Sale and that's literally only because we just got them. You need at least 3 I believe for For Sale so I'll likely try to bring it over to my parents for Thanksgiving. Air, Land, & Sea may never get played. She wasn't too big into it and I don't want to force her to play stuff just because

It was a fun weekend, my birthday, so I asked that my family joined me to play some of my new games.  We played #Trails of Tucana, #Empires of the Void II, #The Isle of Cats, #For Sale, #Cóatl and #No Thanks!.

Oh yeah is agree there. I've often told her we should get married sooner just so I could finally stop typing fiancée lol. Wife would be so much easier.

Probably the closest game that I can think of didn't go over too well with our families which is a huge reason I don't want to grab Startups.#Speculation - it's basically a stock manipulation game and is so incredibly simple. They just didn't totally get it but I'm hopeful going forward they will. If not I'll just sell it lol.

But other games they like in that same genre would be#Chinatown and#For Sale.

I guess you could still consider#For Sale unplayed only because I've never played the physical version and my Ghost Turkey just got it for me not too long ago. I had#Trouble Game for the longest time and I don't even know where it came from but it's now the property of Goodwill lol

I voted for you being crazy ONLY because all of my recent purchases have gotten played. With the exception of course of stuff that's not to me as of yet due to KS or just purchasing it like yesterday..

I guess I still haven't opened or played#Air, Land, & Sea or#For Sale from my BGB Ghost Turkey.

I've been fortunate to have my fiancée to play games with even if she mostly hates me for it lol. Anything that needs a larger player count like For Sale would, we can bring to one of our parents house and they're usually down to try.

I second #Diamonds and #6 Nimmt!

I would also recommend:

  1. #The Fox in the Forest
  2. #Bohnanza
  3. #Silver & Gold
  4. #Arboretum
  5. #High Society
  6. #Point Salad
  7. #For Sale
  8. #Love Letter
  9. #The Mind
  10. #12 Days
  11. #Sushi Go Party!
  12. #The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine (Maybe an Honorable Mention - depending on how you want to count the component list)

As you can see I love card games ;)

We also alternate holidays between our families. Now that both families are so close by (not that they were THAT far away before), we'll likely be spending time with both to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas. The food's usually the same for both holidays - we were actually just talking about this when trying to plan a menu. As far as games, I for sure am bringing some and will try my best to get as many in as I can. Last year we played some lighter stuff, #Werewords Deluxe Edition and #Word on the Street come to mind. I think this year I want to try to break out #Codenames: Pictures and #For Sale.

Yeah 55 for extended family is "small" for me and my family as well.  My dad was 1 of 8 and my mom is 1 of 12.  Family gatherings for my mom's extended family can get close to 150 - 200 people if all of the cousins and their kids show up.  Yes, they end up renting a reception hall/church basement to hold everyone.  Dad's extended family ends up closer to 100 if everyone shows up.

#Sheriff of Nottingham, #King of Tokyo, #Diamonds, #For Sale, #Citadels: Classic, #Skull, #Camel Up, #Sushi Go Party!, #Just One are games that end to get played (depending on what I bring with me)

Let's see... with the family:

#Merchants of Amsterdam, featuring the best tagline ever: "Dutch auctions are the way to riches and power" :) Then a bit of an election kick, with #Campaign Manager 2008 and #Mr. President. And the always-enjoyable #Slapshot - scored a Tiny Tim goal!

With my (currently-online) game group:

#For Sale
3x #Codenames

#The Voyages of Marco Polo

And then in person on Sunday, 3x #Pax Pamir (Second Edition). 2 last place finishes, but one Turn 3 win! :D We're planning an all-Pax day soon!

Sounds like you and I have similar family holiday plans. We always bring games to both her parents and mine..we've had some success with:

#Camel Up (Second Edition)

#Team Play

#5-Minute Marvel

#A Fake Artist Goes to New York

And of course the real star of the show, #Monikers

I recently picked up #Codenames: Pictures and got #For Sale as part of a Secret Santa I took part in and I really want to try to get those going this year.
