Exploding Kittens

Exploding Kittens is a card game for people who are into kittens and explosions and laser beams and sometimes goats.

In this highly-strategic, kitty-powered version of Russian roulette, players draw cards until someone draws an exploding kitten, at which point they explode, they are Dead, and they are out of the game -- unless that player has a defuse card, which can defuse the kitten using things like laser pointers, belly rubs, and catnip sandwiches. All of the other cards in the deck are used to move, mitigate, or avoid the exploding kittens.

  • A very easy game to get to the table and explainable in minutes. One of the better card games, for 4 or 5 people, in my opinion.
  • Bad enough I refuse to play it
  • mixing the nsfw edition and impolding kitten all in one deck is crazy fun bumps it up to a 7 for me. I would just put all of the exploding cards in the deck though. Last one standing wins. Follow same rules for defuse cards. shorter Game less defuse cards in deck.

We have fun with #Monopoly Deal Card Game , #Exploding Kittens and #Sushi Go! . A couple others that I play online are #Lost Cities and #Jaipur

I'd also like to try the #Dale of Merchants series as well as #Flipology

What about #Exploding Kittens?  That one is always good for some quick fun.  I like #Once Upon a Time: The Storytelling Card Game as well, but I think that one is more dependent on your group.  Oooh and #Hanabi and #Jaipur

One of my friends and I were at the store and bought #Exploding Kittens on a whim within the first couple weeks it came out. We had no idea what it was but he recognized the artwork from The Oatmeal. The game turned out to be a huge hit for most people for a long time.

That said, I'm at the point where I'd be fine with never playing it again lol.

Technically I'm still at my start so all is fresh.

We didn't know much other than the occasional Catan friends would bust out. Apart from stuff like Scattergories and Monopoly Deal, I was turned on (BGArena and Youtube helped with this) to having a few games for ourselves. We picked up #Exploding Kittens , #Codenames and #Sushi Go! . Was all so fresh to us and we really enjoyed them!

The next year while travelling in New York, we grabbed #Risk: Game of Thrones at the HBO HQ shop which was cool as we love the show. Then some time later we bought #Disney Villainous which really surprised us. I was just looking for a decent game that wasn't too easy and that my SO would find approachable. As big disney fans, we loved the look of the game and were blown away that there was a great game to be played too. We began to ask what else could be out there and started talking about maybe having a collection one day.

Fast forward to 2020, as we hadn't really acted on our collection plans yet. Pandemic hit, decided I had time to do some research and now I consider board games a hobby of mine. Some additions over the past several months being: #Point Salad , #Skull , #Just One , #Fort , #Decrypto . Now we're on the lookout for some weightier games to balance what we already have. Collection is still small so everything gets its run.

#Maracaibo against solo about 6-8 games into the campaign.  I wanted to see how the campaign played out and what it added to the game.  I had a good time against the solo but think the campaign would certainly be more fun with more players.  I'll hold out to play with others down the road but did learn that it would be just fine playing with some o the legacy tiles during a regular game.

#Exploding Kittens about 3-4 games as my son has been into playing this recently.

I forgot - I also backed Throw Throw Burrito, but I don't really count that in the same category, as it's a well-established, very successful company (they made Exploding Kittens), and not really a hobby game, more of a silly party game. The game is what it is, silly fun, but the Kickstarter did not disappoint. It shipped early and I'm pretty sure they gave us extra stuff, can't quite remember.

This week I also played some Pandemic just two game one of which we got destroyed super early. Since we won the second we will be moving up to all epidemic cards. Ticket to Ride: France and Old West Expansion Map Collection 6 has been the TTR of choice and we played 5 games on the France board and 3 on the old west side. We got a game of six players on the old west side which was awesome. Sushi Go! and Exploding Kittens Card Game also made an appearance this week.
