Played once. Fails to mitigate the fruit of "conflict impairment" as defined on my profile page.I really wanted to like this game because it's territorial and because it integrated Puerto Rico-like elements.I am not fond of plastic miniatures and prefer wood as it's more functional. I found it a chore to cross reference the creature chart against my neighbor's miniatures. I feel the publisher could have addressed this in numerous ways. Setup time is terrible.
Reads like a wargame version of Puerto Rico, but it doesn't work.
--Aug2006-- Fairly amusing re-imagining of the Age of Mythology computer game. The boardgame is streamlined enough to be quite playable, and - while it's difficult to treat seriously - is a species of entertainment.
Time-consuming, fiddly combat, rules problems, etc., but wow, those minis were cool back when this was first published.SOLD, September 2015
The game is unbalanced. The Norse have a better area for resources, better units, and more opportunities.
