With less and less days left until the end of 2019, we keep getting excited by all the new games coming next year. Announcements of titles, that will be crowdfunded through 2020, keep coming almost every day now.
We’ve already taken a few looks at upcoming games by major publishers, but after some weeks a whole new batch got announced on social media and during Essen SPIEL.
Today we’ll tell you about 5 games coming to Kickstarter next year. We’re again focusing on fan favourite and most successful board game creators.
We’re about to witness one of the most intense months in the “tabletop” category on Kickstarter. Mythic has already launched their Super Fantasy Brawl. There’s also Middara with over 2 million dollars pledged. And let’s not forget about Jurassic World, Roll Player and Dwellings of Eldervale. All of the above are just the beginning, as the amount of July projects with high potential and big names attached to them, is insane.
Let’s have a look at the first batch of games.
Smartphone Inc. – July 2nd
Smartphone Inc. is an economic board game set in the 2000s – the time when smartphone business was still budding, and there were plenty of amazing opportunities on the market. It was released last year and soon it will reappear on Kickstarter along its new expansion. The game takes place over the course of 5 rounds. Your goal is to become the most successful player on the market. To achieve it you’ll have to work on developing new technologies, creating new company buildings and expanding your range of products. Gameplay is based around an action planning mechanic, which is delivered in a way pretty unique to the genre. What to expect from the new edition? First of all: higher production quality of the components. A new “hardcore mode” for those who want an even bigger challenge. There are also some tweaks to the rules to make the game smoother and more replayable.
Time for another batch of upcoming Kickstarter games! Their campaigns are all set to launch in late May and in June. Enjoy!
MonstroCity – May 24th
If you’re into the kaiju monster genre, and the upcoming Godzilla movie feels too far away, Vesuvius Media has quite a proposition for you. The team led by Constantine Kevorque decided to bring the MonstroCity: Rampage video game to our tables. The board game version is supposed to appear on Kickstarter on ...
Time for another episode of our Upcoming Board Games series. Spring is shaping up to be really strong, with tons of new titles launching on Kickstarter. Winter months felt slightly lazy, bo now the sheer amount of announcements is overwhelming. With titles like Bloodborne or a new Vampire the Masquerade legacy game, we fully expect April to have some of the highest funded campaigns of 2019.
Ignite – April 3rd
Ignite by Ginger Snap Gaming takes place in a world, where heavy use of magic and sorcery led everything to ruin – from society to balance of the elements. Destruction of environment, countless wars and never ending hunger plague the world.
Today, we’d like to show you 3 different dice based tabletop games, that are planned for release in 2019. Each of them offers an unique set of mechanics, and tries to create something new out of one of the oldest game components ever.
Abar Depth – 2019
