You've been dreaming about this. And someone is offering your perfect board game in mint condition for 50% discount. What would be that game and what would be your threshold for how far you'd travel to pick it up if it's 100% guaranteed?

It would depend on the game. Heck I would drive a couple hours if someone had a used copy of every game I really wanted to try, at fair prices.
NOTE: I'm always willing to drive further with no traffic, than a shorter distance, stuck in traffic. Even if the time is exactly the same.

This is an easy 2+ hours for me because I absolutely love to drive. Windows down and some good tunes, or an audiobook and I'm in heaven. The drive would be half the reward.

Dude...pretty far actually...

I'd go 1.5 hours or so, but I would have to have other things to do wherever it is I'm going to make the drive worth it. I'd do it for most games if it were only 30 minutes.

Probably 1 hr. Sadly the gaming community is VERY small where I live and I've never bought anything locally. I do check fb marketplace once in a while but nothing really pops up. Even worse my closest local gaming store closed a last christmas.

I was thinking 3-4 hours at first and then saw that "sweet deal" was 50% off. I was thinking %70-90% off would be a "sweet deal". That being said, I'd drive an hour (roughly) for 50% off a game I was really looking for.

Hahahah that's very true, even a $120 game at 50% discount will basically even out with a 4hr roundtrip. And it would also have to be a super expensive game typically at $120-200 or something
I think The Gallerist goes for $99. If it was being offered for $50 flat somewhere I'd drive an hour. If it was being offered for $10...I'd drive 2-3 hours. Same for Dinogenics or maybe...maybe Brass Birmingham (slightly easier to find). A game like Turin Market (can't find to save my life) I'd travel 3 hours just because it doesn't exist near me.

The Gallerist was perhaps the most solid box we'd ever owned.

The real question is: How far would my wife allow me to drive?
What I think is immaterial compared to the power of the wife.
But I would drive quite a long distance to get a really sweet game at a good discount.

I put down an hour. My gas money is separate from my game money... LOL. But to be clear, I am talking about a more expensive game here.
We talk about board games here. Games like Codenames, Catan, Root, and all your favorites. Posts can link directly to games and everyone is welcome to join the discussion.
