I'm considering publishing a Feature Roadmap. Would that be interesting?

BGA

I tend to come up with and power through feature implementations pretty quick so I tend to not really have a reason to show what's up and coming.

Is this something that you'd be interested in?

My current roadmap includes a few possible things.

  • A legit blogging feature for users to write reviews and other things
  • Adding guidelines for the wiki so users have confidence adding and editing games
  • Additional forum filters (looking at only games you want to see)
  • Making the feed and forum views interchangeable so you can see the info in the way you want
  • User DM system
  • More information on the user profile pages
  • A system to connect Board Game Reviewers to Publishers (I am beta testing this right now actually)

Is this kind the kind of post you'd like to see more of?

Vote yes from me, but don't put a ton of work into it. Just a general idea of what is coming would be nice (everything mentioned so far seems great).

I feel like a post in this fashion is much easier than what I used to do with writing a full blog with images and stuff before.

Somewhat related: can I follow the BGA forum tag in my feed somehow?

trentellingsen 8 months ago | 1 point[-]

Not yet, but I'm planning to add that.

You can just click on the BGA tag in the side panel of the forum to filter by that flair right now though.

Yes that would be great! I'm not really interested in a timeframe but more the order of things. Also if you add time to a certain features users will start developing expectations and that will add pressure on you.

absolutely. i love how Stonemeier Games does this in regards to their upcoming games (even hidden by their codenames). I think it helps manages expectations and keeps things in perspective, as to just how long it can take to put things together. And it answers a lot of commonly asked questions.

Good point. I really admire Jamey and his communication with his fans.

Absolutly this. Setting expectations and letting people know that the site is building and growing makes people want to use it.

That makes a lot of sense.

I think connecting Reviewers to publishers would be very useful and filtering forums is always a helpful feature.

sounds great! especially connecting reviewers to publishers!

Right now I do have a sign up for the beta of the reviewer/publisher linking in the website footer under 'Business'. The Reviewer Program and Get Your Game Reviewed links are what I've got right now.

do you have any features for partnering up to publish through 5 color combo? A friend and I are dabbling in board game design, so i'm curious.

I don't have anything formalized but I'm open to chatting. You can email me at contact@boardgameatlas.com and we can chat more.
