The idea of the book of maps is great, but those little map expansions look awful. I don know how could it be made better. Maybe there should be two books so you can put them next to each other, so the pages would be on the same height. Also I think there should be a separated book for rules/ info for the current maps and the mapbook should only contain the map tiles plus some art on the edges. This way you could pass the rules around so other people can also read it.

I think I agree with you on both points. The extensions look a little rough and the rules book really should be separate!

The scenario book and rules book are separate, just like in the original Gloomhaven. The image of the tiles is just a rough look at it being a prototype printed from Fedex. The final version will have the art go to the edge of the pages to look nicer.

That book of maps is interesting! I am not sure how well it will be received though, people love their cardboard...

They are taking a page out of Plaid Hat games book with this... no pun intended ;)

I'm excited by it. I think the less setup necessary the easier it will for me to want to play it. I've put in about 15 hours and then took a couple weeks off and now I just hesitate to bring it back out simply because of the setup time.

Set up time really does determine how often a game gets to the table at times....

I haven't gotten or played Gloomhaven yet so I don't know if I want to get this one or am really cheating myself and should hold out for regular Gloomhaven.
