They weren't kidding when they said MOUNTAIN!

I just scrolled through 11 pages full of Meeple Mountain review posts haha I came here to post another review I finished (#Heroes of Land, Air, & Sea: Pestilence Expansion), but I think I'll wait until the number of review posts dwindle a bit.

Here's my question: Does anyone here look at the reviews that are posted like that, page after page? I looked at the first few titles, but once I realized they were non-stop, I just scrolled to see how far it went. That MM peep must really want to win the giveaway haha

Oh my, I'm really sorry everyone.

I posted links to our past reviews today using an automated process supported by Board Game Atlas. I was completely unaware that in doing so it would cause issues with people using the site. I was under the impression it would only show up on each distinct game page.

Please accept my apologies.

You’re totally fine :) I found it more amusing than anything haha

Agreed with @Skurvy5, thanks for addressing it.

I saw you and Trent talking through to get your reviews onto the game pages but I was wondering if it might flood the forums. But as someone new to our forums, it's completely understandable how you wouldn't have known what would happen (it's been confusing for some of the existing users too in how the visibility of the posts works). So apologies on our (BGA's) part too for now making it clear.

Also, thank you for sharing about us on the facebook group! Feel free to give us lots of feedback and I hope you enjoy the interactions here.

Sorry everyone! I saw @trentellingsen and Meeple Mountain (I believe it was Andy who was getting these added?) exchanging messages on Twitter trying to work out the kinks in getting their reviews posted here. I had no idea how it was going to affect everything, whether there's some programming magic that would bypass flooding the forums or we'd get the results we saw. And it was never communicated to Andy either on what might result once he's done figuring out everything. For someone who is new to how our forums work, I could see how you wouldn't necessarily make the connection between adding links to the game pages vs. its effects on the forum. Anyhow, thanks everyone for your patience/understanding and I really hope we'll get a better way to approach this as more content creators come on board.

That makes a lot of sense. MM normally isn't one of "those types of folks" who just spam stuff.

Meeple Mountain has always been respectable, and still is, even after this unintentional flood. :) I do like their content.

I didn’t think Andy would have done that intentionally, so I’m glad there’s some logic behind what happened. And it’s nice that he reached out to you guys first. Not everyone would have. No worries on my end! :)

Yeah, this definitely seems like an unintended consequence.

No problem.

I've been cagey about adding my vids here for just this reason. Spamming a community, but not contributing to a community just seems like poor form to me.

I really really appreciate how you have been doing it. It seems like this dumping everything business doesn't help anybody.

In bulk that is, i've been adding the new ones as they come out

Supporter9 months ago

I like that you add the new ones as you post them. It’s nice to see and discuss a little bit.

Supporter9 months ago

Oh my. The forum is almost unusable right now. So many reviews.

Supporter9 months ago

I usually don't read any of them if they dump them like that.

Supporter9 months ago

Definitely. If they are links to another website I rarely click on them.
