Introducing Board Game Atlas: Pocket [v0.1 Beta Release]

Hi all,

I'm excited to announce the first beta release of my native mobile app: Board Game Atlas: Pocket! The last few weeks I've been hard at work to get the first release ready and while this is an Android only release, the app is already compatible with iOS and should become available in the near future.

A beta release is an early release to test functionality and to collect feedback. While the app should run fine, you might run into missing functionality or bugs. I will try my best to get these sorted as fast as possible.

The app currently supports the following BGA features:

  • Connect your BGA account with the App!
  • Viewing Top Games
  • Viewing Personal Lists
  • Viewing Game Details
  • Viewing Logged Plays
  • Adding Game Reviews (editing is not yet supported by the BGA API)
  • Logging plays (basic info for now).

What features do you want to see the most for the 0.2 release?

Have a great day!

This is awesome Gekey.

Thank! Have you tried the app?

Yes it put it on a Galaxy Tab S2 and it works well.

Awesome! The app itself is not (screen-)optimised for tablets, but good to know it's working!

I'm used to every app telling me that these days but a number of them still work out ok.

I'm sorry to hear that. When the app is more "feature-complete" I will definitely look into optimising different screen sizes.

Thanks for all the hard work you're doing for us!

Happy to do it! What is most important for you in a Mobile BGA App?

Hmm...  Honestly not sure but I think it would be either the price alerts or having the forum available with optional notifications for whenever someone comments or replies to one of my posts

Hi Gekey!! Thanks so much for all the hard work youve put into this app. Some functionality I'd love to see is the ability to mess with your lists and also to search the entire BGA database for games (as opposed to just the top games).

Logging in was super smooth and everything else seems to work pretty well!

Looks really nice - great start! What are the top games based on?

Is there a way to search in all the games? I only found searching in games in lists...

Gekey 7 months ago | 3 points

Thanks! The Top Games are games that are sorted by Popularity. If you go to the "All Games" page on this website it shows the same list.

Currently you can only filter lists based on search input. I haven't implemented Global BGA search yet unfortunately. The focus for this release was getting the Login flow setup and logging plays / adding reviews. The good news is that I'm currently working on that feature so It shouldn't be too long before that's added :).

If you experience any problems or if you have feature requests please let me know!
