YouTube link sanitizing.

When adding a YouTube video, the link needs to be manually cropped to remove the first part of the url. Having the system clean that part automatically would make linking videos much easier.

Also, linking a video to a game in a post, should have an option to link that video on the game's wiki page perhaps. Just did it manually for the latest Tapestry video for J.

That makes sense. I'd like to have that too. I'll add it to my list.

I might not be understanding you correctly, but when you make a video post on the forum linking to a particular game, the video should automatically show up on that game's "wiki" page. If I'm understanding you correctly but this wasn't happening, then it sounds like there's a bug

J had posted his recent overviews to the forums. The link for the discussion was in the page, but the video did not show up on the list.

Gotcha, thanks for the example. Will let Trent know to check it out

I've had an issue with not being able to upload videos "consecutively," where after uploading one video, I had to refresh the page first, and then upload another video.

Were you also getting the videos loading as undefined until you refreshed the page?

Oh yeah. I need to make the transition to see it better, haha. It's one of the oldest features of the site so I'll give it some more love soon.

I can't quite remember since it's been a while, but I'm pretty sure it was something along that line. It just didn't feel as smooth of a process as it could be. Great that you got Trent to get around to it.

Good point. I get annoyed with it myself too.

It's fixed now! You can input the whole link or just the ID.

There may still be an issue with mobile links.

I tired to paste in https://youtu.be/iXHPM5JGB-s and had to truncate it make it work.

Supporter12 months ago

oh yes. The shortened youtu.be instead of youtube.com I'll add that in too.

Nice, thanks.

I'll still getting the show all videos causing an error message on some games. Horrified and now Tapestry.

Do you want the error url?

Supporter12 months ago

I just fixed both issues! Thanks for letting me know.

Awesome, thanks for the quick fix.
