So I have officially won back to back weekly challenge giveaways and need help figuring out what I should get. I'm stuck between splurging on a single expensive game or buying a few lower priced games. What does everyone think?

Most people here know I'm prefer quality over quantity so I'm gonna say go with a big game if there is one you really really want.

I would get another game.  Maybe sell one that wasn't getting as much play if I had to.  :)

Oh back to back? Awesome!! Yeah I'd probably agree with Bob. Go for something big!

If I go that route, do you have any suggestions on what to get?

I'm not sure what kind of games you like but a big ticket game that is highly rated that I'd love to play some day is #Star Wars: Rebellion.

buy it, including the expansion. consume the rules. CONSUME them; knowing the rules well by playing a game against yourself the first time is critial to teach them to somebody else while not spoiling it mid-game!

It is a blast; thinking on who to send on which mission, where to strike with a fleet and ground force, where to apply force or diplomacy. Although it is based loosely on the old and unpopular pc game Star Wars Rebellion; I was more than delighted when I heard an actual boardgame was coming.

I can't stop talking about it :)

Haha not really. I generally keep my wishlist free of super high price games. You could go with a bigger game and an expansion for it. I see you have Everdell on your wishlist - that's a personal favorite in our house, and it has 3 expansions available. Other than that, sorry, no ideas lol.

Not a bad idea! Except one of my friends owns it..though I suppose he still hasn't opened it lol

Or you could buy it off him if he's not going to play it anyway lol

Something big and epic is my vote!

I've been having issues voting in this poll: "There was an error in saving your vote. Please try again."

If a big game is something you can't often get then I'd take this opportunity to get something bigger.

For some reason it isn't letting me vote.... But I say, "get something big and expensive." I o don't know what your tasts are, but I would think of games such as:

#Eclipse: Second Dawn for the Galaxy

#Twilight Imperium 4th Edition

#Gloomhaven

Or, perhaps, you could get one more expensive game, and a slightly cheaper game. For expensive games I am thinking of stuff like:

#Rising Sun

#Barrage

#The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth

#Brass: Birmingham deluxe edition

#Pax Pamir (Second Edition) (I think you can still preorder it, but I am not sure.)

Again, I don't know your tastes. But these are some of the ones that I would look at, and I would probably try to get one big game.

#Rising Sun has always been at least on the back burner of my wish list.  I did think about getting it if I ever won back to back.  But my winnings were a bit too spread out this time.  However, I'm really happy it worked out that way.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'd be lying if I said I haven't thought about getting one of each lol

Just do it.... LOL

I don't know how your general buying habits look, but when I won back to back giveaways I realised that I would never justify spending that amount of money on one game for myself under usual circumstances - so went all out and bought myself TI4 as otherwise I never would.

Yeah that was where my mindset was headed but then my fiancé pointed out I have been buying heavier games lately so some lighter stuff to share with our parents would be nice too

For sure, it all depends on what you are after. Did you have any lighter games in mind?

I have a few in mind but I think that option would take a bit more research to decide if they'd get played

I would highly recommend both #Coup and #Welcome to the Dungeon as great filler games.

I've played Coup a few times and haven't enjoyed it. I was thinking along the lines of#Cockroach Poker,#For Sale, or#Similo
