Kickstarter Roundup: Lift Off the planet, lay Pacific Rails, and undergo Neo-Morphosis
by Calvin Wong
Pacific Rails Inc
Proudly combining worker placement, route-laying, and engine building (engine geddit) Pacific Rails Inc challenges you to lay track, manage goods, get support, and find the most efficient way to build rail in the American West.
If you want a classic-looking game of real rail, Pacific Rails Inc can be found here
Lift Off! Get me Off This Planet! Deluxe Edition
Cute aliens are stranded on a very hostile planet! Work together (but win apart). The deluxe edition is more of a content expansion, with new planet pieces, cards, modules, and an intriguingly titled 'wormhole board.'
It's cute, the game is reviewed well, and the designer Eduardo Baraf is a cool dude - check out Lift Off!
Science fiction horror co-op is a genre unto its own and Neo-Morphosis has be-tentacled monsters who continuously evolve, grizzled crew (and a cute robot) to take them on. Craft weapons, repair the facility, and do battle against buckets of plastic.
Personally, I'm a massive sucker for cute robots and science fiction that looks bolted together instead of sleekly replicated, so maybe the game will be your jam too.
