I just purchased Tapestry, Wingspan European Expansion and Paladins of the West. I'm still waiting for them to show up but I'm excited! What about you?

The Public Library hosted a Used and New board game sale. They derogatorily called it the “Nerd Sale”. However, Nerd-Card carrying person that I am, I stopped by on Saturday. Amongst the decent, but not overwhelmingly spectacular selection of games, I spotted a copy of A Feast For Odin. It was in the “Only Played Once” section and was in fantastic condition. I paid $60 for it.

That is a solid deal for AFFO! Typically in the ~100 range.
I know! I couldn’t pass it up. The previous owner took great care of it.

Also, calling it a "Nerd Sale" will keep muggles away, leaving you with the best options!
True, it kept the muggles away. But it also wasn’t very good advertising for the sale. The late-middle-aged ladies running the sale were throwing some major shade. I went to the register with my purchase and the lady looked at the game and said “You know what this is about?” I had a Ron Swanson moment where I said “I know what I’m about, ma’am”.
hahaha That's fantastic.
In hindsight that was pretty epic.

I'm doing a field placement with a social services non-profit as part of my Master's degree. The degree is gruelling, and often feels pointless. The field placement is one of the best experiences I've ever had, but it demands a tonne of attentive energy.I usually take the bus to and from the site, but one day my wife came to pick me up with all our kids. That was nice enough. But she sweetened the moment even more by pulling out a brand new copy of a game there's no doubt we'd both love playing together: Architects of the West Kingdom. It's rare these days that we can afford a game that's still in the shrink wrap. We got home, cleared a spot amidst the child-made mess, smelled the fresh ink on the punch board, and played a round. It was great. And when it was over my wife looked me in the eye and said, all a'twinkle, "I wonder what Paladins is like..."
These sorts of experiences are so awesome. That is basically the story of how my wife surprised me with Dominion.
Cool story! How many children do you have?
I often joke that I have three little boys, but my wife has four.
Do you have any humanoid miniatures in your life?
Ha! That’s funny! We have 3 girls. I’m sure my wife would agree with the 4 children part.
I mentioned this in another thread but I pulled the trigger on the Deluxe edition of Brass: Birmingham. I am GREATLY looking forward to it.
I have wanted to play that game for awhile. But, I haven't. Let us know how it goes.
I for sure will put together a write up on my first play through, I am very excited to experience it and share it!
Great. Looking forward to it. Have you played Lancashire? Or is this your first exposure to Brass?
This is my first exposure in terms of playing. I have watched a couple playthroughs and rule explanation. I tend to overexpose myself to a game before buying lol.
Outer Rim was my last-purchased game.
I have also purchased it recently, but it wasn’t my most recent purchase.
Two cities $1 at a thrift store. Looking forward to trying Star Trek: Frontiers.

Is that Between Two Cities by Stonemaier Games?
Nope, it's a typo. It is Lost Cities. Not nearly as exciting.
Lost Cities is a great game too though
I like it even if it is essentially gamers Racko. But, my wife loves it, so I do get to play it a lot which is nice.
