What does your gaming space look like?

What does your gaming space look like? Do you have a fancy board game table? Do you game on the kitchen table or in the basement?

If you could change your space, what would you improve?

Does anyone have one of those cool gaming tables where you tack off the top and there's a dale gaming surface inside and cup holders? Someday one of those would be cool.

I play on my dining room table or in our bed lol. I’d really like to get one of those game toppers for my table at some point.

Just our dining room table!  We have an extra large one with two leaves in it.  We used to take the leaves out years ago when we first moved in.  But then we homeschooled for a couple of years and then with gaming and crafts, it just didn't make sense.  So we decided to just keep the leaves in all the time and do gaming at one end of the table and eat at the other end! ;-)

We keep our leaves in the table all the time too.

I love the extra space to spread out!

We try to take ours out but end up just keeping them in all the time

Give up trying like we did and just leave them in. 😂 More time for gaming!

haha yes! The kids would destroy them though... Maybe we'll have to build a safe underneath to keep them protected?

They would destroy the games or the leaves? We have up on having nice things until they are grown up and out of the house. 🤣 Our table is pretty beat up.

Maybe both lol! But mostly the games

We don't leave games set up either unless it's a longer one like Axis and Allies. Our boys are 13 and 16 though, so they won't mess them up.

Makes sense. I’ve heard of people leaving games up and taking a turn or two as they go about their day and I’m like “how??”

They must not have kids or cats. 🤣

I think that's the only way.  In college we could do this but that was before kids.

Our kids are 13 and 16 now so we can leave games out for a while, but then we need our table space back. My 13 yo is always sorting his Magic cards and making new decks and then I use the space for crafts that take up a lot of space and I want to get out my jigsaw puzzles.

Definitely!

We leave our leaves in but I don’t leave my games set up. Leaves don’t fall from trees unless you are talking about leaves which I spent a while cleaning up this fall.

And everyone talks about leaves

Mine's a regular dining table that can handle four players with a game that doesn't take up too much footprint. Any other games like Viticulture and it will probably be 2p max haha.

If my wife and I could ever afford a house (and have an extra room to spare), I'd love to setup an entertainment room for board games, video games, movies, and so on to enjoy with the family. For now, more than anything fancy, I'd just like to have a room that isn't in a common area so that it provides a sense of separation in usage!

You'd never leave!  Haha.

Definitely not.

We play on our kitchen table pretty much exclusively. It's a nice big fancy pants table from Mayfair (the furniture company). They had a big ol' game room giveaway last year. I obviously entered it because who doesn't need a nice table? After entering, it gave the option to share for more entries. I'm not a big fan of that method, so I left it and forgot about it. But then I won! I had *one* entry, and the top entrants had over 9,000 each. Talk about luck! I was blown away. So we had that table in our townhome in Utah, which didn't fit at all (and extended partially into the living room from the kitchen), but now it fits absolutely perfectly in our dining room. It's been a huge blessing. It also came with a lot of dragon decor which is super cool and awesome and I love dragons haha

The moral of this story? It doesn't matter how many entries you have, as long as you have one, you have a chance. haha

Wow! You are lucky!

This is a great story!

Super cool story.

Wow awesome story. So cool that you won!

I'm still blown away by it, almost two years later.

So Mayfair games got out of the industry and started making furniture instead?

Also you are a really lucky dude. Didn’t you win Root also?

Uh, did I say Mayfair? haha I meant Wayfair :) This is the state of my brain fare (see what I did there? No? Yeah, it was a stretch...). But yes, I also won Root. I am super lucky, I'll admit. haha
