What is the cost for using the site?

It is FREE! So it's a great way to try some games out.

Sweet! I’ll have to check it out!

I love the other BGA! I don't get a lot of time away to play games in person, so I play a lot of stuff on there. I've used it to play a lot of games I've been interested in and to play games I already enjoy.

My username is the same as here: disom

Great, thanks!  I will add you.   I am not getting enough table time either so I'm thinking I want to start some games on there again!

I’ve not tried it. I don’t think I will for quite a while considering that Gloomhaven takes up so much time recently.

Okay, well, keep it in mind for the future or if you're traveling or friends are busy and you need your game fix. 😊

Definitely!

Mine's tofudad18. Like what you mentioned, I made an account to try out games that I either want to own or to play classics/old games that I'll likely never own :)

Can't Stop is the only one I've tried so far and I haven't gone back to the site since haha.

Is there a story behind your Reddit/other name?

Owner15 months ago

Yup. A month into my wife's pregnancy, I wanted to refer to our son with a temporary name (it's customary for Koreans to give a temporary name with some sort of great meaning behind it, but my wife and I didn't think that was necessary). So, when my wife was cooking up dinner, I thought, "how about tofu?" (in Korean pronunciation). I started calling him tofu for a few days until I thought to myself that maybe I should also give the baby a more feminine sounding name as well. We happened to be eating pizza at the time so that's when I came up with "olive" (again in Korean pronunciation). I combined the two and called our baby olivetofu or tofuolive until finally settling with tofu after finding out he's a boy (his real name is Emmet by the way, which also has a story behind it haha). Long-winded but I've been going with tofudad18 ever since he was born in 2018!

Great story! Is he named Emmet after the Lego Movie?

Owner15 months ago

Funny you mention that, because while I've watched the movie, my wife and I didn't make the connection until after we decided on the name. I googled Emmet just to see who comes up and the Lego guy was the first result :)

It could be coincidental but I think they might's gone with that name for a similar reason that we did for our son. My dad thought about giving him a name that has the meaning of "truth," and after doing some research, my wife and I came across the name Emmet, which in Hebrew is made up of the first and the last letter of the alphabet. Especially with our Christian background, my wife and I liked the name a lot and we stuck with it! Also like that it's not as common, especially among Asian babies :)

That makes sense in the context of the movie, for sure. Glad to hear that you guys are people of faith! Which flavor are you guys?

I first went to a Presbyterian church during my middle and high school years. The one that I've been going to since college years (here in San Luis Obispo) is Southern Baptist--they're somewhat of polar opposites in terms of style/approach, but hey! as long as the main thing is the main thing :)

After college, I've been mostly working with high schoolers. They're rowdy and make my head spin, but I like them so I'll keep them haha

Edit: My wife has been around at our church much longer than me and have served as one of the praise team leaders for the past 10 years or more.

Great! We are Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS). Basically a very German flavor of Lutherans.

I love it! That's a cute backstory.

Ha!  I hadn't been on in 8 months, but am going to start some new games on there.  Can't Stop is a fun one!  I got hooked on it after playing the demo game.  I'll add you as a friend on there!
