Great write up, enjoyed the review! I've got a half dozen or so plays so far,  in person and on TTS, and so far it hasn't lost its luster. But the limited amount of cards (and the fact that our group has not been a fan of the balancing of the made up rules, either) gives me some pause. Oh well, I will keep enjoying it now but maybe not play it too many times in a row!

I'm quite interested in this game. Thanks for the review!

I really like Kyle Ferrin's art. In a game like this, I think the art would be enough to convince me to get it despite the imbalances and repetition.

I've only managed one play with this and I thought it was pretty okay. Looking forward to having another go but I can definitely see your 'cons' being accurate.

This game has for sure been on the radar. Thanks for the review!

Awesome! I'll read up on it some more so I'm not starting from scratch when we try it.

Really love this game. I agree that a couple perks definitely seems stronger (Sticky Fingers if in play), but that just gives more incentive to get to those first two levels of your fort before having your overall strategy unfold. I do wish the best friends actions were more unique to them to set them apart from the other best friends, just the suit is different.

Still a great game that is quite inexpensive for the quality of components that come in the box. And while the replayablilty is lacking for some, it seems like the game and the studio has left the gate wide open for expansions that may build on what already is a fun game.

I for sure agree on the price point and potential issue of replayability. I think for this type of game, being that it is quick and not overly deep, I am totally fine with it feeling same-ish from game to game. I don't think that it will detract form people wanting to play it, unless they over play it.

I feel very similarly about Fort! Great solid game but I think I might have gone in with too high of an expectation + a misunderstanding of what the game's about. I was giddy with excitement that you'd be building your own unique fort in typical deck-building fashion. That wasn't it. I like the kind of deck-building Fort offers and its high interaction but I personally find that it doesn't have that same satisfaction I find in games like #Dominion: Second Edition

Maybe if I play #Dominion: Second Edition again with some expansions or different starting set I'll enjoy it more.  I only felt like it was okay.

I prefer deck-building + "X" games, but when it comes to just the enjoyment of building a unique deck you can call your own and witnessing the effects in action, I'd give it to Dominion so far. But when it comes to overall strength, I'd prefer #The Quest for El Dorado just because of the high amount of player interaction

Does this mean youre intersted in #Dune: Imperium??

I think I agree with most of the critiques. I really liked it at first but I've cooled on it as of late. I'd like to play with some higher player counts, but, ya know, COVID. I've only played with 2 and that's been pretty good. It's lean and fairly easy to teach so it stays in the collection for now.

I'm going to have to read this after my game of Barrage! I think I'd like the twist on deck building.

Okay just read it. First off, great review and thanks for sharing. It's a little disappointing that it gets stale after repeated plays. I'm going to take your advice though and try it at least once as soon as I can! I know someone in my group has to have it!

there is an official mod on Tabletop SImulator you could use to try it out.

Awesome! I'll have to drag my friend into a game. Wouldn't be the first time I made him play something only I wanted to play haha. Thanks!!

Interesting, I like the Scythe-like player boards
