Trying to make Brian proud. First run through of the Tutorial for IA Legends on the Alliance. It was a lot of fun (I did shut off the background ambient music so I could play a Spotify Star Wars play list). I'm excited to continue to try it out. (Although I'm worried it will get me chasing after the Jabba and Hoth Expansions. Maybe I need to win the free games again.

It’s a trap!
You will absolutely be chasing all the expansions now. Annoyingly the app tells you what percentage of content you have acquired, driving people like me to collect the entire game.
Making me proud Scott! I really really like this game.
But yeah, when I complete the Base Game Campaign it's going to be hard to not go after the two other App Campaign expansions (unless they get a Heart of the Empire and maybe a second Base Game Campaign shortly after).
What's your favorite Mini Expansion?
For the mini campaign - Tyrants of Lothal. But for content in the box - Twin Shadows. Tyrants feels like a waste of money for the miniatures that you get. Thrawn and Death Troopers are awesome but the rest of the stuff is pretty meh.
Twin Shadows has the Heavy Stormtroopers and a bunch of other flavor stuff. Boba Fett! R2 and 3PO!
Do you ever wish they had Hero cards for the actual Star Wars character? Luke, Han, etc.? Also have you played with Vinto Hreeda? He seems awesome to me.
No, I don’t mind that the big characters aren’t the main focus of the game. I like that we get to tell new Star Wars stories along side the existing story. I love how we can mix in the big names to help out, but the freedom of not having those characters as the focus of the game is great.
Cool, that does make sense, that perspective makes me more excited to make my own team. Do you have any characters not yet represented that you’d like to see in the game? For instance I’d love to see Xizor, Dash Rendar or Coran Horn. In fact I’d love Shadows of the Empire expansion!
I never really got into the Shadows of the Empire stuff, so I have no familiarity with those characters.
I do wish they could’ve found time to include Hermit Yoda, scout troopers and speeder bikes, TIE pilots, and even Ewoks.
Plus all the Rogue one content - Shoretroopers, Krennic, the entire Rebel rogue one squad.
Also a lot of iconic rebel characters were missed - Wedge Antilles, Admiral Acknar, etc.
Bascially they could’ve kept going for a long time but Legion came along and kind of killed it.
That would be fun. I guess I didn't realize that IA was dead in the sense that it has no more new content. Do you know if this applies to the App as well?
Also, it's an even bigger bummer because Legion and IA are not the same type of game, they are just both "Star Wars" games. I have no interest in Legion because I don't care at all for that type of game. So it's sad to hear that it's pushed IA out. Thankfully there is a lot of IA content I still need to discover. I will say though if the App is done adding campaigns that will really be a bummer.
New App content has not been confirmed dead, but it also isn’t confirmed to be in their plans. I really hope they can at the very least put out a campaign for Heart of the Empire. This would at least utilize all 3 big box expansions in their own app campaigns.
Phil is posting an interview soon with one of the FFG people who helped design imperial Assault. One of the questions that I submitted was to ask specifically about the app. I doubt we will get any concrete answers but I really want to know.
Uhh I accidentally reported this comment. Can I un-report it?
Oh yeah I love IA it was the 2nd game I got when I first got into the hobby about 4 years ago now. But this is my first time running it with the App. I've always been the Empire (with great success!). It's fun to change my view point.

This seems like a pretty cool game! Is it the kind of game that requires an app?
Yeah you can definitely play it without the App in the Campaign and the Skirmish mode. Both are a lot of fun. IA has been good to me. My best friend from college bought a copy and we Skirmish on Skype every once in a while. Great way to stay in touch.
That’s an awesome idea. I’ve never actually played Skyrim mode.
Trent - This is Imperial Assault! When first released IA was a dungeon crawler experience where one player controlled the Imperials and the other players control the rebel scum. I mean Rebel heroes. The core set also supported a skirmish mode - a 1v1 matchup. The skirmish mode grew into its own game (Star Wars Legion) which then went on to kill Imperial Assault. Sad.
Later in the development cycle for Imperial Assault FFG released an app called Legends of the Alliance which controls the imperial player, turning IA into a solo or cooperative game versus the app.
The app is what first drew me in to IA.

And I simply cannot get into Legion, as much as I would love to. I mean, I can go without, but my kids still need to eat haha
You know what's funny. I can't get into Legion because I did not like X-Wing at all. I know that is an uncommon opinion but I just didn't care for it.
If I had to get into another FFG game I would totally get into Armada. It looks incredible.
Why? Why would you do this to me?
That's how I feel every time I see something new that looks awesome. Too many game, too little time.
Too many game, too little storage space, too little money, too little time.
