I never engaged in the forums but was in there quite a lot for armada and legion posts(painting inspiration, builds and speculation). I actually preffered it quite a lot to facebook groups or other less focused discussion channels. Really sad indeed.

They layed off quite a few employees and have lost the rights to Star Wars minis specifically, now they are shutting down a forum. I am sure they might still be producing games, but they are making a lot of cuts organizationally.

Ok I looked it up. It's all related to Asmodee's control over FFG. Asmodee is moving control of X-Wing, Legion, and Armada to a new "specialty" studio called Atomic Mass Games. A lot of the people currently involved with those games will be moved to that new studio. Doesn't seem like it has anything to do with Disney.
