Weekend Wrap up 2/25/2019

I had 2 game nights this weekend one with 4 players and another with 6. Pandemic with 5 epidemic cards was beat on the second attempt after the first game had us with the zombie apocalypse in 3 rounds. We brought another person into Ticket to Ride using the France board for our first 5 player game. After that we flipped the board over and got one of my nephews to play for a 6 player old west round. Sushi Go! is still popular with the girls so we did a couple rounds of that between games.

Our board game time got cut into with my youngest sister wanting to play Just Dance which turned into a 5 hour event I will be recovering from for the rest of the week. I think next game night is going to be Catan and Forbidden Island. How did everyone else fair? New people? New games?

played Clank with some friends after running lights for 3 productions of midsummer nights dream. great fun to unwind too. played risky and aggressive (got all my cubes in the bag that game) and still managed to pull a victory despite being murdered by the dragon before i could escape

I used to work with a guy who ran lights I think he enjoyed that a lot more than the work we did. That sounds like an entertaining round of Clank.

It was a surprising round to say the least! the person we all thought was winning ended up losing by a lot. I missed my chance to grab the 20, so i bought a backpack and a key and picked up the 10 and ran deeper in to grab the 30. somehow, despite having twice the cubes in the bag that anyone did (and drawing hands with absolutely no movement in it) i still crawled my way out of the depths. the noise it took to do that ended up killing me, and allowed the others to escape. All my cubes were in the bag or on the board as damage, so I'm amazed i survived long enough to score!

I'd still call that fun as long as you had a good time. The hero the needed.

I actually played a bit of Texas Hold'em Poker. It's been fun diving into some good strategy with my wife! I was hoping to get into some games with friends on Saturday but we also started going towards the videogames and played Super Smash Bros

My youngest sister is only 19 and while she isn't a big fan of video games in general and does enjoy board games a lot Just Dance has a big draw for her. I never got into Texas Hold'em but I do like playing poker and if I make it to a casino I sit at the Pai How tables.

I played Azul with a friend who's just starting to get into games. I've been feeling a little sense of burnout with it since I jammed a ton of games after I got it, but it was still nice to get it to the table with him.

I find a lot of times that some fresh meat can breathe a little life into games I'm burnt out on. Do you have another game picked out to move onto with them next?

I'm planning to show them either Pandemic or Reef next.

Pandemic is one I've kept off the table more often than not but its one that people are always asking about. We beat it done one epidemic this weekend so I think it will go off the table and then brought back all in  the weekend after.

I like it more with 2 people. It's a relaxed game with some good strategy for piece placement.

Good to know! I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a chance to play.
