I really think Catan is a great game. I know it is popular to get on it in highbrow geek culture right now.... But, I don't know of any other game, that light and accesible that has so many game mechanics. I think that it today, 25 years after it was first released it still makes a great jumping off place for a person wanting to get into gaming.
