Wooden Samples for Viscounts of the West Kingdom

Saw this on Garphill Games' facebook page! This will be a tempting Kickstarter to pass off on.. (I've yet to back anything on Kickstater).

That Knight Meeple.... wow.

Marshwiggle92 Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

That's my favorite as well.

Love me some Meeples.  I agree based on what I've heard so far it will be hard to pass up.  But I think I'll have to.

I can tell you that if a game is going to hit retail unless you really feel strongly about backing the project I wouldn't.  I've backed a few but feel like only one has really delivered on the extras you get form backing it instead of waiting.  At least from a cost benefit stand point.

This one seems like a good one to wait for retail. Seeing past trends with Architects and Paladins, Garphill Games tend to be on the affordable side (it's pretty incredible that #Paladins of the West Kingdom is less than $40, if you consider so many other games out there that sell for at least $5 or $10 more while offering less game in return. And it's considered one of the top euros of 2019!). The cards and components unlocked from the stretch goals are available soon after on their website as well.

Good point, it will probably go down, or rather definitely will.  Maybe by the time it hits retail I'll win a giveaway and then I won't have to pay for it at all.  Ha!

That is pretty much my feeling. I don't know what it will cost, but I'm pretty confident that it will be available for $35-40 after release. So, I imagine that I can safely wait too see how the solo rules stack up, and how heavy the game is before I jump for it.

I actually have one small concern. The center piece on the board looks sorta bulky. I hope they make their smaller sized box big enough to actually put everything in after playing.

Which one delivered?

sdirrane Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

I'll give you two guesses but if you think abut what I post about you'll probably only need one.

Monopoly!

sdirrane Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

Ha! but...

Marshwiggle92 Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

I don't know what all you have backed, but, I'll horas #root

Skurvy5 Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

It’s obviously Root

sdirrane Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

Haha, right on.

Marshwiggle92 Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

I couldn't remember if you had backed it or not

Ah I love meeples

Marshwiggle92 Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

Aren't they great?

Sliddell11 11 days ago | 1 point[-]

Amazing! Far better than cardboard pieces

Marshwiggle92 Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

They might even be better than minis.

Sliddell11 11 days ago | 1 point[-]

They are in my opinion

Marshwiggle92 Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

It does depend on the mini and the meeple.

Sliddell11 11 days ago | 1 point[-]

It definitely does. However I just like the wooden components. I like the way they feel and they are fun to fidget with when you’re thinking haha minis I just can’t do that and they take up too much space

I don't mind a mix like in #Spirit Island or #scythe

Marshwiggle92 Supporter12 days ago | 1 point[-]

Shiny shiny.

Ha, I was actually just looking this one up! I won't be kickstarting it but I will definitely follow this one with interest.

Marshwiggle92 Supporter11 days ago | 1 point[-]

That is pretty much where I'm at.
