I won a set of Gaming Gizmos from PYE Games. They arrived today, and they look great.

I won a set of Gaming Gizmos (large and small) from a facebook giveaway. I chose the metallic ruby red and had them personalized for my husband. I also backed the campaign, and chose oil slick rainbow for the others.

I've seen these before. They look really cool!

They look awesome. How does your husband like them?

Partner12 months ago

He is very happy. He is going to use them in his D&D game tonight. They are life counters, or any sort of other thing (hit points). One goes to 20 and one goes to 40. The numbers look random, but as you rotate them, they hit the arrow in order.

Can you spin them like you would roll dice?

Partner12 months ago

Yes, they work sort of like a fidget spinner. They make "spin dice" that are numbered specifically to replace dice, but I didn't back those. Their campaign had lots of options.

I can spin these if I wanted a random number from the ones printed, or, say, to choose start player.

Wow, those look so cool! Congratz!

Thanks! I was wondering how they assembled them, but I watched a video clip where they 3D print them all at once. The pieces are printed a millimeter rotated each time, so it ends up as gears/teeth.

woah! that's awesome! (what are they?)

never mind i checked out the kickstarter. looks cool! is it ever possible for the gears to not land right on the arrow so you get a "cockeye"?

They mention a house rule where if you spin the spin dice and it's in between, you can call it to the right. But since we'll use them as life points/hit counters, we won't have that issue.

ah i see! clever!

Wow, these look weird :o Is there a video somewhere how do they work?

Supporter12 months ago

Ohh I found it first I did not notice that the first picture is a video :)
And when he was showing the dice in the video i was wondering it is possible that the spinner stops between two numbers. And right in the first spin of the 40 spinner it stopped inbetween. So it is not perfect but unique for sure :)
