What are your favorite Dice Games?
I know I gush over #Too Many Bones a ton here, but this is inspried by my wife asking if we have any games that use dice! My answer was TMB and #The Castles of Burgundy and they were not satifactory to her. With that being said, what are you favorite games that use dice?

CoM is definitely really cool. It is a unique take on the workerplacement and dice pool building genre!

With all the recent talk I've been having about it, I really want to check it out.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned #Machi Koro or #Istanbul: The Dice Game. We like them both and have used Machi Koro to introduce people to newer board games. I also like #King of Tokyo and #Sagrada. For a quick party game of 2-6 players, there's #Flash!, and for younger kids, there's #Doodle Dice. The later says ages 6-adult, but we probably haven't played it since our son was about 10. My wife played Tenzi this summer when visiting her family and she's asking for that for Christmas.

I've played #Machi Koro once and to be honest I wasn't a huge fan. It could be that I just don't love dice, I guess. I'm starting to suspect that.

From the games that I frequently see you mention, you are much more of a card driven game kind of gamer!

Likely! I don't think I like when battles or other types of confrontation are left to dice. I don't know. I'm sure as I get exposed to more dice-based games, I'll like it more. I mean, I guess I do enjoy #Root, which uses dice to determine battles, but there are extra rules around that. I don't know. I just haven't been drawn to many dice-based games in the past, or at least not enough to buy them.

I get that, dice for the sake of dice is not super fun, but if there are multiple factors to it I think it is a fun wrench that is thrown in!

I have only played #Machi Koro once and destroyed my friend...I retired in that moment lol. Gotta end up on top!

I don't play that many dice games. I am sure that #Too Many Bones and #Nemo's War (Second Edition) would be high if I would have played them. But, seeing that I haven't played those I will mention:
I should also say, that there are lots of games that I love that "use" dice. My favorite right now is probably #Navajo Wars, but, the ones listed above are the ones I feel like are dice games.

I watched a playthrough of #Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade and it looked interesting! I can see it dragging just a little bit but it is truly a unique game concept!

Man there's so much buzz around #Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade and #Under Falling Skies . Good thing both of them and #Deep Space D-6 all have a pnp version to try out. Which is your most favorite?

I think I would have to say DSD6. I am not a huge fan of roll and writes, and whil SSP4C is a good one, it is still a roll and write. Under Falling Skies is really good. I am thinking about buying the "real" version.

This might get me a lot of flack, but despite all of the use of dice in #The Castles of Burgundy, I agree with your wife that it's not a satisfactory answer for a dice game. I mean the fact that there is a #The Castles of Burgundy: The Dice Game should tell you all you need to know about the use of dice in that game. Yes I realize it's literally the whole game lol, but it certainly doesn't feel like one to me.
We like #Qwixx in our house as well as #Corinth which are both roll and writes that utilize dice. #Camel Up (Second Edition) is another good answer to this (thanks @philryuh) though I think I feel the same way that it doesn't feel like it's using the dice in the way you'd expect...
Probably my favorite pure dice based game is #Strike. It's always a blast when we play. I saw some ads on BGG recently that it's in stock again!

Yeah Strike is just a great time. I've never played just one game of it. Everyone wants to play again and again.

Absolutely! I don't know if you've ever watched the BGG GameNight series but that's where I was introduced to it

Mine are #Champions of Midgard (love it that the dice ARE the champions), #Unearth, #Fuse, #Harvest Dice, #Dice Forge , #Nagaraja and #Las Vegas Royale.
