New Unmatched sets feature Marvel characters!
Wow, I had heard through the grapevine that Restoration Games had a big announcement for today, but never expected this! I love #Unmatched: Battle of Legends, Volume One, and especially love what they did in the #Unmatched: Cobble & Fog set, but fans of Marvel will go bonkers for these four sets. And the art looks amazing (always a strong point with this series)!

I'm telling you, if Cobble & Fog came out first this year, it might have been my Game of the Year or at least a strong contender. It is the perfect two player game for me -- a nice blend of strategy plus just enough randomness to keep it fresh. Plus, the set decks play so thematically that it makes me want to play every different character.

Interesting..the way you describe it almost reminds me of #Disney Villainous. If that's kinda similar I will just in fact have to check these out more

It's interesting that these are 3-character sets. Unmatched has always released sets with either 2 or 4 characters. I wonder why they are taking this route.

The publisher said two reaosns -- (a) they finally have the 3 player rule set down and working well and (b) there are some new twists to the game that will be shown off with the new 3p rules.
Can't wait to see what those are!

I've been keeping my eye on #Unmatched Game System and trying to figure out which to start with. I'm glad they keep expanding it. The more expansions, the more reach to new people. #Unmatched: Cobble & Fog, #Unmatched: Jurassic Park - Ingen vs. Raptors, and #Unmatched: Robin Hood vs. Bigfoot are the most interesting to me, but I would definitely me interested in a Marvel set, especially the Hell's Kitchen and For King and Country.

Same here -- For King & Country looks to be the one I'm most interested in.
If you are just starting out, and you like the theme of Victorian England, get #Unmatched: Cobble & Fog. It is still my favorite set. But I will tell you that #Unmatched: Robin Hood vs. Bigfoot might have my favorite character, Robin Hood! Can't geaux wrong with any of them.

I've been leaning towards #Unmatched: Robin Hood vs. Bigfoot or #Unmatched: Jurassic Park - Ingen vs. Raptors simply because of price point, to make sure I like it. I would probably only be playing it at 2 players with my wife, and I would want to make sure she liked it before investing much into it. Have you play the Jurassic Park set?

If you play on TTS, there is an Official TTS mod where you can try out the base characters and even some of the expansion material!

Interesting choices, though it was only a matter of time until Marvel injected itself into another well-regarded board game! I suspect that we will see more Marvel expansions in the future because they left out a lot of the core MCU characters.

Whoa, this is big! Marvel obviously has a huge audience, so this should catch some mainstream eyes.

Generally, I really like Marvel but I'm not that keen on having Marvel characters in #Unmatched. I really liked the literary character thing they had going on.

Yeah I get that. Easy enough to just not buy the sets, though. I could even see them kind of walling off the Marvel sets, where they aren't actually compatible with the other sets. We'll see, though.

Sets:
- Redemption Row – featuring Luke Cage, Ghost Rider, and Moon Knight
- Hell’s Kitchen – featuring Daredevil, Elektra, and Bullseye
- Teen Spirit – featuring Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, and Cloak and Dagger
- For King and Country – featuring Black Widow, Black Panther, and Winter Soldier

Interesting, that's including a lot of the characters who are getting their own shows/movies in the upcoming years. I watched a video where Kevin Feige announced the upcoming titles for the MCU

I just heard about Unmatched for the first time on the latest Board Game Barrage podcast. Now with their being Marvel sets, I'll have to look into it more for my father in law. Dude loves Marvel lol
