Especially our son enjoys board games so this was a focus on our daughter to incite some more 'flame'.
I thin it will be too complicated for her yet though :D

You could probably simplify it by playing without the basic and special events, which are mainly just point scoring opportunities that most often get claimed in players' final seasons. They're not complicated in themselves, but if you wanted to slim down the game for a first play, that's something that could be stripped out without hurting the experience too much.
yeah thought so too, the game lends itself for adjustments like that!
You'll have to let us know how it goes!

It's as if that table was made to show off this game! I've not seen the components for this before. It's a thing of beauty.
Hope you enjoy it!
It truly is beautiful. And it's a great game too!
indeed; just did a game versus myself (not the solo variant) and i think it really shines at 3 or 4 players. Some very clever mechanics and engine building
The solo variant is actually quite easy to manage, which is nice - every time you play a card, Rugwort gets a random card from the meadow. That's pretty much it!
