What Trick Shots is Everyone Trying?

Premium User

As I'm sure we all know, the community challenge is to do some trick shots with board game components. I was just curious if anyone had some fun ideas they wanted to share. I'm on vacation this week so I have so much time on my hands. I already sent some videos to , but I promise I won't steal your ideas (maybe lol). The first one I sent was used a Gizmos marble in a pretty simple Rube Goldberg style set up of other games into the plastic dispenser.

What's everyone else doing?

I took at shot at making the loop for this.  No luck yet...

That has the makings of something excellent!

This looks like the setup for something great

Trent and I will be working on another trick shot video next week using components from #King of Tokyo: Dark Edition, except this time, it'll be sponsored by iello (the publisher) :)

Whoa that's so cool!

Does the dark version have different components to the regular game (other than colour scheme?)

Owner8 months ago

Not too different but couple of components got an upgrade (this is supposed to be a "Collector's Edition"). For example, the "energy" tokens in the original are just green cubes. Dark Edition has ones in lightning bolt shape. The dice are cooler looking too. They also added a small new mechanic into the gameplay.

Oh that's awesome! Can't wait to see it!

I have a couple shots in mind with carcassone tiles! Easy to fling but hard to get in some tight spaces!

Nice! I hadn't thought about Carcassonne as a game to try shots with. Now you have me thinking ;)

So far the hardest trick shot has been to...come up with a trick shot, lol. Next hardest will be finding time to actually do one.

Hahaha I feel that! Mine so far have been pretty lame in my opinion compared to the ones on the video. I've been having trouble deciding what games to include in the tricks..then of course what to do once I decide on a game lol

Just to give everyone an update, I've received 10 trick shot submissions so far! :)

Awesome! I know you said it would be a random drawing for who wins the challenge this time. Would you want to have people vote on their favorite if we keep having trick shot challenges?

I am thinking I might pull out catacombs and try some flicking based ones. I am trying to work out the best way to film them as I don't have any fancy equipment

Premium User8 months ago

Yeah that's been something I had to remind myself of. and have all these fancy cameras and here I am with my  iPhone lol

At least for my #Flick Em Up! shot across the two rooms, it was mostly shot with just my old phone behind the cowboy meeple haha. But yes, it helps having multiple camera angles :)

Yeah, I imagine something to hold it in would be useful, so the shot isn't shaking about.

It's all about the angles lol

Most of mine were a 2013 iPad mini camera, haha (mostly because I don't have a case on my phone and was afraid of it breaking).

Hahaha well you did great work
