Hello everyone. Sorry I’ve been quiet the past few days. I have the internet rarely. I can’t wait to get back involved.
On a gaming note being in Madrid has helped me appreciate Pandemic: Iberia a bit more. It’s really fun to see the names of all the cities on the highway signs!

Very important question. I watched the first two episodes. Honestly, I thought it was only okay. I hope it picks up in pace a little bit. It was awfully slow and a bit boring. I just think Disney is milking the Star Wars tags and not doing a good enough job with writing. Even with the new novels, they feel like they are just pumped out. I love the old EU because it was a natural consequence of the OT being such a great series. It wasn't written to just make more content (like Disney had done IMO).
Still hoping that it will pick up though. I haven't given up on it yet.

What brings you to Madrid?
Also, will you get a chance to visit Barcelona while you're over there? That's where the Sagrada Família is, the inspiration to the hit board game Sagrada :)

The school I work at sent 6 students over to Madrid (at our Sister school) to study for a month. I went over to pick them up and learn more about the school and see if there are things the Madrid school does that we might like to incorporate at our school.

That’s super cool. I’d love to visit there. Hope your students had a good time!

Whoops! I think I'm a bit too old for selfies. I think I've taken two in my entire life.

Did you take any games on your trip?
Also, what, if any, board game apps did you end up buying for the trip?
slapsgiving14 Supporter17 months ago
I did not. There wasn't really time for that unfortunately (or space). I only brought carry on bags.

Probably wise. I've flown with games a number of times and it is always a pain.
Have fun in Spain.

Actually I went out until like 1:00 am with some locals so I slept for like 8 hours on the plane to fight jet lag preemptively.

It did work. I went to bed at normal time in Colorado yesterday and I feel normal and great today.

Lucky. I usually need about a day per hr of time difference. Although it has never taken me more than a week, even if the time difference is more than 7 hrs.

Haha, yeah exactly! I actually stayed near the campus of the school I was visiting with the priests that work at the school.

Yeah, it is kind of deserty (not really a word) so maybe all the desert tiles in IA could be used to tie it to Madrid?
We talk about board games here. Games like Codenames, Catan, Root, and all your favorites. Posts can link directly to games and everyone is welcome to join the discussion.

It'd be funny if you ended up winning the current giveaway lol
And it's cool that you got to see the references from the game in real life! I have a similar experience when I go to Santa Barbara, CA for site visits (I work as a structural engineer) because almost all of our client work is in that area and our jobs are typically named after street names.
