#thefoxintheforest and #Warpgate we’re the two games I picked up and played this week. Can’t wait to get warpgate to the table again at a higher player count. Fox in the forest reminds me of hanamikoji. The simplicity and mind games. So good.

We have been really enjoying #The Fox in the Forest Duet recently, a very calming little game that can be played in 30 mins.

Welcome to the forum! How many players did you play #Warpgate with? I've yet to play a 4X game and I see that it's supposed to be a 4X experience at a fraction of the time. How's the game and does it seem good for two players?
I played it at 2p and will play it at 6 tomorrow. It’s hard to get a true 4x in a short amount of time, but warpgate makes an admirable attempt. In terms of taking over a galaxy, fighting others for resources, and holding your own space, warpgate does a great job for something that can be finished in a fraction of the time
How does #Plunderous seem to you? Looks really interesting to me but it's just outside of my typical player count (2p)

Four great games!
How do you like Ecos? It has been loitering just below my wish-list for a little while
I like it. It does lend itself to analysis paralysis as there are so many options and most players won't get to do everything they set out to do. In some ways it's like a sandbox game and you can sort of do whatever you want (though point scoring might be hit or miss that way).
I don't think this game would be for everybody. It is beautiful and enjoyable for the right personality but would likely be quite frustrating for others. The number of choices would be too much for some players and the lack of direction as far as game goals go might be tough on others.
I think this one will see a lot of plays at our house because it has good visuals and the game play is pretty easy to engage. Personally I like Wingspan better and I think I like PARKS a bit more as well.
Nice, thanks for taking the time to write that up! I think it would be one that I would like although I think I am prone to some AP so while I might enjoy it, my friends might not appreciate me playing it :D

I played...nothing. How incredibly sad, right? haha
Nah, that happens sometimes. It's not like you must play a certain amount. It's for fun right?
It's true. But I do look forward to it, so I'm always a little disappointed when it doesn't happen. But, our other activities that took its place were also fun. :)
I hear you. Good that you were replacing it with something else fun too! :)
Just think about how sweet it will be when you do get to sit down with something. What is the game you would want to play most right now?
About a week ago, it was #Rurik: Dawn of Kiev. Fortunately, my wife and I got a game of that in last night. I always love that one.
Congrats, I have never come across it before, what do you like about it?
I think it's the auction programming of actions that hooks me. Placing "advisors" (i.e. workers" on action spaces, but you are able to get bumped down on the action's juiciness by higher-numbered advisors. But, you can also increase your advisors' values by assigning them to actions with coins underneath them, increasing their "power." And, the lower numbers activate first, so there's some good give-and-take going on. It's a fantastic mechanic and lots of fun.
The rest of the gameplay is really smooth and well done as well.
Sounds very cool, will have to keep my eyes pealed for an opportunity to play.

I really like the idea of that particular mechanic. I hope I get to play it someday.
I hope you do too. I think you'd like it. They're doing a reprint soon, along with an expansion, so I'm excited for that.
Nice. This was on my wish list a while back but has moved toward the bottom of my wish list at the moment.
I find that the longer a game is on my wishlist, the further down the list it tends to travel. The ones that do stay up top, I know I really want. It's a fine strategy to have haha
Totally. And for me part of it is the, I'm planning on only purchasing one game (which I've already one) in 2020.

I played #Great Western trail for the first time!
Oh man, this looked so interesting to me and then kind of fell by the wayside. How was it?
It was kind of opposite for me. Wasn't interested. Then my son asked for a game with cows. I said, I know of one but it's very complex. He ended up not liking it but my wife and I like it alot. Very interesting choices to make. Some different "games" going on within a single game but they all feel cohesive, unlike say, Dinosaur Island, where each part of the game feels very separate.
We played two player. Haven't played with more players yet. I could see it being really long at four players. Kind of hard to tell who is winning so, keeps things interesting for everyone most of the time.
Sometimes other people's turns aren't as interesting to you but they aren't super long so there isn't a ton of down time (at 2-players).
Great game. We will be playing it lots I'm sure because we don't have many straight euro games.
Sounds great! Glad you enjoyed it. Maybe I'll play it someday.
