For whatever reason I could only get the one picture to load. I've been playing modern board games for about 3-4 years now. Probably got started after playing Magic the Gathering for years and then being introduced to Dominion about 4 years ago or so. It was all downhill from there. I used to make fun of a friend for having so many games.
Like my beer I like a good well designed game. I'd prefer something easier to teach that I can get my family into but I love more complex games such as Scythe or Gloomhaven as well (maybe more deep than complex?). I am not a big fan of a game like War of the Ring (a great game by the way) as there are more variables then I care to consider in the gameplay. It feels a little too much like chess and I like my focus to be narrowed a bit more.
#Heaven & Ale still remains one of my top games to this day. #Scythe or #Gloomhaven are around #2 and I would put #Paladins of the West Kingdom near the top as well. #Wingspan and #PARKS should get mentioned among this list as well.
I still have #Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 Legacy & #Charterstone sitting on my shelf unplayed. Too soon for one and family is not ready for the other. #Founders of Gloomhaven & #Firefly The Game don;t get played much due to their size and complexity though I look forward to having folks over again one day to play.
I like the variety in my collection and having a game for almost any occasion or gaming preference. If I could change something I'd have an entire closet dedicated to boardgames only.
I would love to add #DinoGenics to my collection because I like dinosaurs because I guess I'm still a kid and I like the game style with the theme. I'd love to compare playing it with Dinosaur Island and see what my family things as well.
I would love to dabble with play-testing games but family life never really allowed time for conferences and getting into places where I can do that regularly. I've toyed with the idea of posting a video with my kids playing through a game just for fun. I send feedback on rules and whatnot on Kickstarter whenever possible and helped a friend with this one time.
