Received #Donning the Purple and the expansion #Donning the Purple: Votes & Virtue expansion this weekend and played the solo game for the first time. I won by 1 point, but also got lucky during the game. It's another title I can't wait to try with my group I think the plotting and literal backstabbing will great. When in Rome.

@Skurvy5 this seems like it'd be up your alley.

It is most definitely up my alley. Will be attempting to acquire this one.

Well we decided not play our weekly Pandemic game and instead played #Arctic Scavengers. I guess we gave up on saving the world and instead were preparing for the worst? haha

I was able to get in a game of #Raiders of the North Sea on Tabletopia.

Ahhh, I always love how vibrant his illustrations are with these, but not being excessive. Looks like a lot of fun. After learning how to manage the cards on Tabletopia, I'm guessing this is a fairly smooth run with very little to manage. Hope you get to try out Architects soon so that I can hear your take on it.
Yeah they are pretty games for sure. I hope to get Architects in at some point. The biggest thing is either a. figuring out the rules well enough to do a teaching game on Tabletopia or b. playing with someone who already knows the rules on Tabletopia so they can do the teach.
I am really really fascinated with the virtue track though and want to be able to try it out.

I played one game of #Spirit Island as a one game of #Star Trek: Frontiers. Both of them were solo, and both of them continue to be a lot of fun.

Have you been able to pin down your favorite Spirits or are you still exploring everything?
Still exploring.... But, so far, I think it would be, "Shadows Flicker Like Flame."

Played a game of #Celestia for the first time in a while. Kind of confirmed that I enjoy it on Boardgamearena more than in real life.
Does Board Game Arena work as a virtual table like TTS or Tabletop Simulator?
It is far better than either one because it has rules enforcement for all games, is free, and has thousands of people online to play with.
Gotya, actually for me that makes it less appealing. I have a few digital apps for board games and I play some games online and I much prefer the board game feel that comes with Tabletopia and TTS. I don't mind being able to make mistakes as that's part of the board game experience. Some of the fun is people saying "hey, wait a minute".
But I'm glad Board Game Arena is an option for people who prefer it the way you describe it.
What about it makes it better online than in person?
I don't know...certain games just flow better online. Celestia, #Can't Stop, #Saboteur, #Legendary Inventors...I prefer them all on board game arena than in real life.
#Can't Stop on Board Game Arena was a surprise for me. Unexpectedly fun!

Right?! I love Can't Stop. Had never heard of it before Board Game Arena.
Fair enough, haha

Viticulture is definitely one of my favourites!
Definitely a fun one! My wife and I still haven't tried out the special workers and the special structures from Tuscany. Really want to though
I quite enjoy it. I also haven't tried out all the little expansions yet.
So did you win Viticulture?
Yeah, we had to call the game a little earlier since it was getting late, but there was no way that my wife or my mom would catch up. I was 2 points away from triggering the end of the game though.
At least when you had to call the game this time you were winning/about to win, unlike a digital board game night from recent memory.
Lol. I still enjoyed that session though
For sure, it was almost like a teaching session because it was our first time on Tabletopia. Pretty sure the first time I played Clans we only had time to play two rounds.
