Gosh this is hard as it really depends on the game. Most games I have can play 5 and that seems to work out but I have a few 4 max games so I’d say for me it’s 4-5. I like that often this causes games to take a bit more time because then we get more time hanging out together

That...is a tough one. I love playing games like Heroes of Land, Air & Sea; Scythe; and others at higher player counts, but that also means that a game group with five or more people will not see other games played that cap out at four players. That's my dilemma. :)

I think 4 is the magic number. There are generally more game choices with players.

2-4, depending on the game. Only more than 4 if you are playing a party style game.

It certainly depends like most people say. For me it comes down to if I’m playing coop (basically just Gloomhaven) I like it at 2 players. Just me and my wife. For any other night, I like 4 because we can basically play 100% of games and they last a reasonable amount of time. I’m willing to do more buts just not as ideal for the collection I have.
