Weekly Challenge #2 - Share Your First Impressions

Supporter

First off--thanks for everyone who participated in the first challenge and for those who created great discussions!

Here's challenge #2: Share Your First Impressions - This is one of the common posts you'll see in the forums and I think a lot of us enjoy seeing them. So let's see what people come up with this time! Maybe this will encourage some of you to get games off of your shelf too :)

By the way, it doesn't have to be your "firs timpression." Feel free to share about a game you've played a lot of as well if you haven't shared about it already.

Directions

1. Link your post to the Weekly Challenge topic page. This will help keep track of participants so that I can give out rewards easily!

2. Title of the post - Feel free to go with anything you feel is appropriate.

3. Share your first impressions on a game you played recently (or it could be a game you've played multiple times already but never shared about here.) If you'd like to see some examples from other users, you can find some of them here. Don't worry too much about formality and just go with what you feel is best to communicate your feelings about the game. No minimum word count here so just make sure it's not "low effort"!

4. You will get 1 entry per post (maximum 1 per day)

Rewards

Besides earning a badge for completing the challenge (I'll be working on the designs), you will also have a chance to earn a $60 gift card you can put toward a board game purchase!

Have fun and I look forward to seeing your posts! I will do my best to participate in as many of these challenges too :)

I have printed out and cut out the cards for the Mautoma solo experience for Brass! I am gonna try and get a play in hopefully on Saturday!

Nice! I'm curious whether I'd find Brass' solo mode satisfying enough to get it to the table every now and then. Looking forward to it! :)

Ya we will see! It seems fairly intuitive so far from reading the rulebook!

I've got a bunch of reviews that I've been sitting on. Guess it's time to get them posted finally!

Which one are you thinking of? You got soooo many great games recently lol

I've literally had#Imperial Settlers: Empires of the North typed out 3 different times but due to user errors I've lost all progress three different times.

I am having similar troubles, looks like it is all across the board!

Hot dang! We will see what gets played this week but I will FOR SURE put something together!

I for sure will play Aeon's End with the wife, but I also might get a game in on the weekend with some friends. Should I play #Gaia Project, #Brass: Birmingham, #Bus, or #Concordia? The Estates might be thrown in there too!

Those are all games I'd love to hear about.. but I THINK my vote goes to #Brass: Birmingham

I may end up playing a solo variant of Brass though if it is off the table and I can do an impressions post of the solo experience!

We have 5 players now so Brass is most likely off the table :(

+1 for Bus! Though I'm interested to hear your thoughts on all of those!

I have 5 players ready to go so Bus could be a contender!

I played @napoleonstriumph with friends of mine for the first time. I have never played a hex game war game. Based on BGG that said it was not very complex and could be played in one evening we decided to jump in. Unfortunately we found that the rules for combat and engagement were way too complex for the evening, and each "turn" lasted far longer than it should have. I don't think I will ever want to play this game again.

Thanks for the post! I do want to make sure you are aware that in order to be entered into the contest though, you would need to create a new post (new thread, however you categorize it), and link to the weekly challenge topic on the forum!
