What are your current top 3 (go-to) board games?

Supporter

I say top 3, but what I really want to know are your current 3 "go-to" games in your collection for each of these options: multiplayer, solo, and family. So it's not necessarily about your "best game," but more about the games you've recently been in the mood for the most.

Here's my list, but keep in mind that I'm including board game apps. This list is also likely to change in a week or two from now so it's quite volatile!)

Multiplayer: #Viticulture: Essential Edition (with Tuscany), #Root#Clans of Caledonia (this lineup hasn't changed since the beginning of the year)

Solo: #Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization app, #Hive app, #Architects of the West Kingdom (this lineup is the most volatile). The apps are against challenging AI opponents.

Family: #Welcome to..., #Camel Up (second edition), #Just One

Now it's your turn!

Like @stainedglasshouse, family and multiplayer slide together for us so I'm going to bend the rules.

Multiplayer: #Sagrada, #Noctiluca, and #Sequence are the games of the month. I don't expect Noctiluca to fade any time soon, but I'm going to get sick of losing Sequence real fast.

Solo: uuuuhhhhhh...? My sweetie plays solitaire online when she's bored on Zoom calls?

Family: I'm interpreting this one to mean "games that are small enough that I can pack when we travel to see family" because we do not have children to spice things up, nor am I keen on teaching the cat to game. Our portable favs are #Red7, #Point Salad, and #Bananagrams. I am just not that into #Phase 10 Card Game, but it's good?

Multiplayer: #Scythe in general, #Brass: Birmingham for something tighter, #Tiny Towns for something quicker to play, #Kingdomino for the non-gamers, and for something non-euro-y I'll throw in #Forbidden Stars.  (Really this is too broad a category for 3..)

Solo: #Gloomhaven, #Terraforming Mars, #Spirit Island

Family: #Just One, #Codenames, #Betrayal at House on the Hill

Fun

Multiplayer: #Root (obviously)

Solo: #Raiders of the North Sea (even though I haven't tried it yet)

Family: #Sushi Go! or #My Little Scythe

Multiplayer: #Scythecythe...its fantastic and easily the game I play most with more than two players.

Solo: #Paladins of the West Kingdom of the West Kingdom I think is my go to.  It's fun to play solo and challenging.

Family: #Wingspan with #PARKS as a close second.  Both are fabulous for the family.

I can’t wait to dig into the solo mode. I love that they used the Automa system for it!

The solo mode really is pretty neat, It is for sure a challenge to beat!

I am strongly considering trying to build a Crokinole table with my dad, he is a very good wood worker. How do you store it though? My wife is worried about that aspect lol.

Crazy idea - make it really pretty on the back so you can hang it on the wall backwards and it's art!

I actually really like that idea...

Haha, I look forward to the eventual post about your awesome crokinole board/wall art.

I hope! But you never know, I sometimes (often times) have different style prefreences to my wife...

Wood-burned image of you two on your wedding day. She can't say no to that! lol

Lol, that would take a miracle for me to do that. but not a bad idea!

Not a bad idea!

We store ours in the box it came in, leaning up against the wall in our game closet. I've seen some hanging from a wall, so that would work as well. I'd say go for it! And then make extras and sell them for hundreds of dollars each :)

Lol, one day when I have a garage and space to work, I will probably get into something like that. Maybe even do something simple like card holders. Who knows!

Always happy to see Champions of Midgard on a list! I'd say Uno is a highly played game for us as well, since my brother-in-law's whole daily schedule practically revolves around playing it haha

I was expecting a list of just Gloomhaven lol
