Favorite Dexterity Games!

There was some talk on a thread about dexterity games (my bad haha). Some folks haven't played any, some only a few, and others too many to count. So I want to know...what are some excellent dexterity games you've played? Or if you haven't played any, games that you've been interested in? Here are my favorites:

Flip Ships

Ice Cool

Disc Duelers

Crokinole

Coconuts

The Final Flicktier (A dexterity 4x game)

Some others that aren't necessarily favorites but that I still enjoy:

Click Clack Lumberjack (great for adults and kids)

Zoo Ball

Yummy Yummy Pancake (great for kids)

Let me know what your faves are!

Haven't played it yet but I think I would like Ice cool.

Honestly, in the right setting, Jenga is still tough to beat.

philryuh Supporter4 days ago | 2 points[-]

I've definitely gotten a lot of mileage out of mine haha

Years of memorable moments that mostly involve a lot of screaming & bursting into laughter!

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 2 points[-]

Haha Yup, that pretty much sums it up!

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 2 points[-]

I love Jenga to this day.

Sliddell11 4 days ago | 2 points[-]

Haha for sure. Not to mention there are some fun ways to vary how you use the blocks!

I really enjoy dexterity games. Some of my favorites in order of most to least (but still great):

  • Rampage (or Terror in Meeple City)
  • Hamsterolle
  • Warlords (a game my friend made. There are only a couple dozen boards in existence)
  • Ascending empires
  • Tumbling dice
  • Crokinole
  • Pitchcar

Ones that didn't make the cut for me:

  • Rif Raff (fine game, I just like Hamsterolle better)
  • IceCool (I didn't care for the physical element of it. Flicking was finicky)
  • Balancing Aliens
  • MiniGolf

Bonus for the six year old in everyone:

  • Crossbows and Catapults.

Pitchcar is great, and I really love Tumblin' Dice. And, yes Rampage is definitely a favorite! I've only played it once, back when it was still Rampage, but I had a blast destroying the city haha

I'll have to check out Ascending Empires. I've heard of it before.

Most interested in ICE COOL. I've also been interested in getting Men At Work type of game. Catch the Moon is another that I've heard often mentioned by one reviewer I've interviewed in the past.

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 2 points[-]

I've seen Catch the Moon and it looks super cool. I'd love to try that and Tokyo Highway.

I like this post a lot because I don’t know a whole lot of dexterity games.

The ones I would choose are Crokinole and Throw Throw Burrito

ice cool looks great too but I’ve never played it

Marshwiggle92 Supporter4 days ago | 2 points[-]

Crokinole is awesome.

Sliddell11 4 days ago | 2 points[-]

It really is. Just really expensive haha

nealkfrank 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

Have you played?

Sliddell11 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

Yeah it’s great! Aubrey’s cousin's boyfriend makes boards so he brings one to family things all the time!

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

Everybody needs an Aubrey's cousin's boyfriend in their life.

Sliddell11 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

Hahaha indeed they do. It’s super random though that he makes boards for fun!

nealkfrank 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

That sounds so cool! It doesn't seem too hard, just time consuming.

Sliddell11 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

Yeah, and his profit is like $100!

nealkfrank 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

DAAANG Well maybe one day when I have a garage I will start making those as a side hustle lol. That is a great profit.

Sliddell11 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

Haha right?? I’ve wanted to ask him if I could get in on it.. or get one for cheap..

nealkfrank 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

I mean...its you get one I would not be opposed to playing...

Sliddell11 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

Haha then I will try for you my friend!

nealkfrank 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

Are you guys tight?

Sliddell11 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

I would say so! He introduces me to a new beer whenever I see him! Haha

nealkfrank 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

What better way to say that you are close than sharing a beverage!

philryuh Supporter4 days ago | 2 points[-]

Agreed on both. Stone flicking games are commonly played in Korea among kids so it was a natural attraction for me. But like Ben said, it sure is expensive :(

My mostly likely purchase would be ICE COOL or Klask: The Magnetic Game of Skill

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 3 points[-]

Coconuts, Click Clack Lumberjack, and Yummy Yummy Pancake are all published in Korea. Mayday games has had Coconuts for a while, and recently acquired Click Clack Lumberjack and Yummy Yummy Pancake.

Sliddell11 4 days ago | 2 points[-]

No way! That’s cool!

yeah it’s a pricey game... I know a guy who makes the boards and does a great job, but even then they are still $150-350 depending on design and what not

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 2 points[-]

I've heard Throw Throw Burrito is a lot of fun.

Crokinole is fantastic; unfortunately it's kind of expensive, due to the nature of the game.

Sliddell11 4 days ago | 2 points[-]

Haha it is honestly TOO expensive...

throw throw is fun! Definitely get me people jumping and ducking haha

I haven't played too many Dexterity games. My favorite is Junk Art because you have a different goal each round.

I would definitely recommend Animal upon Animal to play with your kids. My kids really enjoy playing with the wooden animals and it does require some skill to stack the animals.

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

Ooo, yes. We also have Animal Upon Animal for our kids. What's great about it is that it's not tedious for adults to play (as compared to, say, Candyland). Very fun with the kiddos.

Skurvy5 Supporter4 days ago | 1 point[-]

I’ve not played many of these. Jenga, if that counts, would probably be the only one. Ice Cool seems interesting.

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

Jenga always counts. I still find endless amounts of joy playing that game.

disom 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

Dexterity games don't hit the table nearly often enough as they should with our group. My favorites include:

  1. Junk Art
  2. Crokinole
  3. Ice Cool
  4. Pitch Car (Mini)
  5. Rhino Hero

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

I've heard good things about Rhino Hero. Is it good for kids?

disom 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

It's great for kids. They aren't always the most delicate about placing the rhino or even the cards, so really tall towers are rare. But they do have a decent chance at winning against adults, so they like it.

BenjaminK 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

I suggested it might make a good Christmas present for the family, but nobody bit haha Looks like I'll have to do the dirty work. My kids love making towers, so i can see them loving this.

Flick Em Up!Catacombs 3rd Edition, and Terror in Meeple City!

nealkfrank 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

I can to say Flick em Up. Never played it but it seems like a themed version of Crokinole basically. Kinda fun.

BenjaminK 4 days ago | 1 point[-]

I've always wanted to play Flick 'em Up, but have never had a chance. Terror in Meeple City (i.e. Rampage) is so much fun! I can't believe I forgot about that one!

swilliams88 Supporter4 days ago | 1 point[-]

It’s so ridiculous!! And great!

JHagedorn0125 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

Crokinole is my #1, but I also own and enjoy Carrom, Klask, Flick'em Up, Rampage, and Ice Cool

BenjaminK 3 days ago | 1 point[-]

Never heard of Carrom. What's it like?

JHagedorn0125 2 days ago | 1 point[-]

Carrom  -It's kind of like playing pool without a cue. There are pockets in each corner of a square board and you flick a striker (think cue ball) into the other discs and try to knock them into the pockets. It's by far the hardest game I listed.

BenjaminK 2 days ago | 1 point[-]

Huh. That sounds interesting. I do enjoy a good game of pool!
