How many games do you have in your collection?

At this point I've bought about 38 games and I'm feeling like I have so many gaps in the types of games I could play so I easily seeing that growing a lot this year.

How many do you have?

I've got about 70 games in my collection and have recently started selling some of the ones that don't hit the table as often to keep my shelf at that 70 mark.

What's your top 5 in the collection?

philryuh 6 months ago | 2 points[-]

Sweet! Unfortunately I've only played Dominion in that collection :(

I have 100 games in my collection not including expansions.  I'm sort of at the point where I'll start to curate things more carefully as I have a good breadth of games now.

Just curious but how many of those are from kickstarters?

R0land1199 6 months ago | 3 points[-]

I've kickstarted maybe 5 or 6 games but I've decided it's not for me.  I don't like the waiting and while the games I got were good games I could have bought great games while my money was tied up.

The exception is Gloomhaven.  Great game and I'm super happy I got it.

That makes sense. I've only backed games as a way to support a friend who made the games. I really want to try Gloomhaven (especially after interviewing the artist Alexandr). Good thing I have friends around who have it cause I don't have the budget for a game of that size yet haha

Yeah, for me kickstarter was something I'm glad I tried but I'm just as happy to let it go.  There is SO much out there that you really aren't missing anything by not getting a kickstarted game.

I have about 100. I am still fairly new to the hobby (Last 5 Years) but have picked games along the way that have looked interesting.

What do you think would be your top 5 games in that collection? (just your personal favorites, not necessary what's most popular among your friends)

  1. Splendor (Most played game in our collection due to my wife enjoying it)
  2. Dinosaur Island
  3. Clank!
  4. Raccoon Tycoon
  5. Scythe/My Little Scythe

I still haven't gotten to play Splendor haha. Is it pretty fun for two players? I just started introducing my wife to a couple of gateway games like AzulLove Letter, and Santorini. Basically any games I can quickly explain, setup, and play as soon as our 10 month old son falls asleep

I'm somewhere between 400 and 500 I haven't split out which are expansions. So many games, so little time!

Just curious what your answer would be to the question I asked rockstar: What's your top 5 in your collection?

1nf1n1ty 6 months ago | 2 points[-]

That is almost an unfair question. :)  I'll name five, but they could or could not be my top five at any given time...

  1. 7 Wonders
  2. Mall Of Horror
  3. Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar
  4. Trajan
  5. Alien Frontiers

Is it worth getting 7 Wonders Duel even if you have 7 Wonders?

philryuh 6 months ago | 2 points[-]

I've got about 10? I have several games I'm eyeing on but I can see how it's a real budget stretcher

Duel is two players only. It is far superior to the two player variant in 7 Wonders. If you like 7 Wonders and you are going to be playing a lot of two player games, it is an awesome addition to your collection.

Race for the Galaxy is one of my favorite two player games (I prefer it at that player count). It is a bit harder to learn because the iconography is a lot more than 7 Wonders.
