Brain burners? Real Time? Social Deduction? What are the games that give you the most stress ( can be good or bad stress)

Im going to sound like a dummy but drafting games. I enjoy drafting but having to make a "best of choice" and build off of it without information, I struggle.
I like Blood Rage, a lot. And every draft stresses me out. Which thing do I draft first? Do I commit to a strategy pull one or do I get some middle of the ground good cards and build around a few? Maybe I just get some objective cards and build to hold those objectives? It's rough for me.

Real time games stress me out..... A Lot.

Real-time games and cooperative, players-vs.-game games stress me out, but in a good and fun way. My favorite stressor is probably FUSE, and I mostly play that solo because my wife hates it haha Games like Pandemic (especially Pandemic Legacy S. 1) also stress me out, because the tension skyrockets as we struggle to survive. I tend to get lost in theme, so that's a thing :)
OH. Also Flip Ships. LOVE that game, and beating the mothership is not only stressful, but incredibly difficult.

Games where I have to lie, or where I have to try to convince someone of something, such as Werewolf. I'm not good at those things, nor do I enjoy them, so playing those kinds of games stresses me out.

I feel the same way. I'm good with games where I can just strategize and keep a neutral face until the moment I unleash my plans, but when it comes to games where I have to lie to everyone's face, the corner of my mouth starts twitching lol

I think any game where I’m having a hard time understand how to make decisions stress me out. Black Angel was the most recent example where it just felt like I was doing stuff to just do stuff and they continually ended up being poor decisions.

I'm always just so happy to be getting a game to the table that I haven't felt stress when playing. Even if I'm losing or I lose the game I'm just so glad to be playing a game it automatically takes the stress away.

For the most part I’m definitely in your camp on this one Scott.
Real time games are the most stressful to play. My go to is XCOM. That game can be super stressful. Other types of games - brain burners, social deduction, heavy, don’t stress me out in the least
Is XCOM real time? I've been interested in it because I've heard it's good, but haven't really looked into it. Hearing it's real time makes me even more interested! I love real-time games.
Yes, it’s app driven real-time craziness.
I’m sorry to hear that... Because now I want to play it even more haha
We can play it when you come up for Thanksgiving!

I'll come up too! lol
I agree... Xcom is a stressful game! The dice just don't roll well for us either
It’s so thematic and fun though. But man it can be brutal.
The games that tend to stress me out are the party games where you need to draw or describe something to have others guess (I see you there, Taboo). Not into that. (but I do like one word description games... Codenames, Password)
I tend to play these types of games with family so that usually makes it more forgiving and more fun.
Yessss, I agree with Taboo (pretty fun, but stressful with the time clock and with everyone shouting lol). Just One and Codenames have just the right amount of pressure for me for games in this category.
Not sure this counts as an answer but games with a poorly written rulebook stress me out (as the one who will need to do the explaining)
Ugh bad rule books are awful. Thank goodness for YouTube.
Bad rule books are one of the reason I got into rule book editing. I simply cannot stand them haha And there is no reason why a super complicated game can't have a coherent, easy-to-understand rule book. The stress is real haha
Space Alert is one that we enjoy and gives a good stress level! I personally don't mind stressful games as long as they aren't back to back.
We talk about board games here. Games like Codenames, Catan, Root, and all your favorites. Posts can link directly to games and everyone is welcome to join the discussion.
