What games has BGA made you acquire?
So, I thought it might be time to spread some guilt.... What, if any, games have you bought from interacting with others on these forums. I am not talking about GAW wins. I am not talking about games that were merely acquired while you were a member of BGA. I am talking about games that you acquired because of interactions you had on this forum. You can have bought them, traded for them, asked for them for Christmas..... Also, it would be interesting if you would give a brief rundown of why you got the games, who is to blame?
I'll post mine in the comments below.

Oh wow! That's me! Now I'm self conscious...I will feel really bad if people buy something on my recommendation and don't end up liking it...

I hear you. I worry about the same things. However, if it is any help to you..... When I buy something based on the recomendation of someone else, I don't do so without further research into it. And furthermore, when it doesn't click wtih me, I never think to blame the person who recomended it. I know they liked it, it isn't as if they were the owner of the publishing house and were making money from it. They did like it, and my not liking it doesn't make their recomendation a bad one.

Yes this@Marshwiggle92! You can't help it if a game doesn't click with someone. Especially if they researched it themselves after getting the recommendation. And we all for sure do that

That is you! Don't worry like I said you just sealed the deal of the purchase I was already going to make. It's a great game and I love it so far!

no purchases so far due to BGA; ...but I'm pretty new.
Many seem to like #Pax Pamir (Second Edition) ... one of that series might be the first one day :D

So this is how you get so many posts;shameless and with a lot of force, pushing people into purchases. The most explicit peer pressure imagineable in a vulgar display of ordering around! :D
You'll have to do more to convince me...
Do a Charm roll for that!

Welp, #Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion. You know who you are hahaha.
Still can't believe it really only took me a day to take the plunge. I'm WEAK. To be fair, I was already looking at it for about a week before that though! And there was a sale I was able to take advantage of, so why not?
I also bought #PARKS. It looks pretty....

I'd say @theDL was instrumental in influencing my choice to go with #Dune for my giveaway win last time. I was on the fence but all his talk of it had me go for it. Still haven't played it, but hopefully soon(ish).
Also, I always had an interest in #Pax Pamir (Second Edition) but didn't think I'd be able to afford it. @philryuh 's solo review brought it back to life for me (and the fact that I was able to preorder it for $60 from my FLGS) so I gotta give credit there too.

Hmm I can point to a number of users for sure:
- #Agricola (Revised Edition) - I had been interested since it was somewhat of a milestone as a board gamer. Couldn't help but go for a deal shared by @indigopotter
- #Clans of Caledonia - @sdirrane spoke highly of it so I buckled. I could often relate to his preferences
- #Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated - I jumped on an awesome deal shared by @BenjaminK. It had been on my wishlist so it was a no brainer
- John Company 2E (speculation) - If I get this, you'll be the biggest cause @Marshwiggle92 lol. In fact, all of my future "historical" games will be on you
- #Imperial Settlers: Empires of the North - It had been on my wishlist and reading up on @theDL's first impressions post was the final nail I believe. Still have to give the solo mode a go!
- #Star Wars: Rebellion (speculation) - It's out of left field but I just might buy this next year and @Skurvy5 will be the biggest reason 100%

Glad I could help. And yes, here I am with Clank! Legacy STILL unplayed. I might as well just play it with my wife as I don't think we'll be getting two more players anytime soon, unfortunately. You said it was still really good at two?
And I'm going to go ahead and blame @Skurvy5 for a lot of purchases made from here haha At least, games I now really want to purchase and just haven't gotten around to yet. In particular, #Star Wars Imperial Assault, which I have always wanted, but he just made me want it more.

The solo mode is really good for Empires! It almost feels like a solo game anyway haha

Wow Phil I'd think someone with your impenetrable will of steel you wouldn't be so easily swayed by us peasants haha. Those are some great pickups though. Which ones of the couple you actually picked up as been your favorite? Remember this does not mean the user who suggested it is your favorite user, though it could be perceived as such and the rest of us will surely be disappointed 😜

I didn't know that you were interested in JC2E. Did you watch Cole and Drew's latest stream about from a day or two ago? I wasn't able too, but I want to watch it when on YouTube sometime.

All the #Root talk in the world still only makes me want to play it. At least I'm smart enough to know it wouldn't go over well for me to own
Sliddell11 2 months ago
it is good, but hard to get to the table with new people since theres at least two videos you should watch prior
cbrady748 Premium User2 months ago
And what two videos would those be? Or do you just mean in general the entry point for rules is two videos?
Sliddell11 2 months ago
Basically a general rules video and then a video for how to play the specific faction!

The only games I think that somwhat falls into this category for me so far are:
#Res Arcana. But only mildly. I heard about it first through a podcast then did some research on the forum where I found @theDL's lovely thoughts on the game and then I picked it up.
#Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion - thanks to that Amazon sale posted by @indigopotter I decided to take the plunge. I had already played regular Gloomhaven so I didn't need any convincing tbh.
I will admit that I've added quite a few games to my wishlist from people talking highly about them on here. #Clans of Caledonia and #Circadians: First Light immediately come to mind but I know there are many, many more.
