Purple Meeple Eater - Personal Finance

Humor

Looks like a new person on the block making board game related comic :)

Besides the strange looking meeple, I thought some people here might relate to this haha

So true (last year) this year I swear I'm going to put a lid on all the buying.  Having said that, we could skip a few meals for a game amiright?

My wife and I often joke using boba as currency ("woahh look at our tax returns--that's like a thousand bobas right there"). Skipping a meal's not a bad deal for entertainment that will last hopefully several movie ticket's worth :)

I'm the opposite way, I have no problem spending money on food. If I can't get a game for less than $50, I'll wait until I can or just never get it. That being said, I backed the Kickstarter Edition of The Isle of Cats (it'll be here tomorrow!) and that that was ~$89.

Artwork on isle of cats looks really good. But I don't know anything about the game.

It's a  light-medium weight polyomino game with card drafting. It seems like it would be the perfect game for my group because everyone it building on their own boards, it's polyomino tile laying, and the theme is adorable. I rarely back anything on KS, but this one had a lot of value for backers so I bit the bullet.

Gotcha... Probably not my cup of tea, but the art looks awesome.

Me too, I could never justify spending that much on a single board game. I'd be way more down to spend that much on a fantastic dinner for a special occasion with my wife or something haha

I gotta say though that I'll probably end up buying a lot of games this year because I've gotten tons of recommendations for games that will go well for me and my wife.

I'm hoping the 10x2 Challenge my wife and I are doing this year will spur more gaming with just the two of us. If it does, I think next year might be the year I start curating my collection that way instead of what our group might play (even though they're probably one in the same).

I'm not interested in batman.... But... I do enjoy this sentiment.

I have been seeing these comics pop up on social media the last month or two. They are is pretty good.

Personally, I can't ever imagine myself spending more than say... $60-70 or so for a single board game. Those types of board games tend to be big games that won't fit my wife and I's tastes anyway.

Me to. But there is something tempting about them.
